3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
750 ml bottle from The Party Soure. Pours a super clear orange color with a minimal off-white head. Lots of spice on the aroma; I guess that’s the gentian root and myrrh and heirloom grains, as if I could identify those otherwise. Also lots of fruit juice, honey, hazelnut. Flavor is the same way, loaded with spices and juices. Minimal malt and zero hop character. Light-bodied, with crisp carbonation and a crisp, fruity mouthfeel. Odd beer, like most of their traditional ale experiments. Worth trying out.

Bottle share. Clear amber. Aroma of root beer, raisin, vanilla. Taste is prune, jam, root beer, bubble gum? Super sweet. Couldn't have a bomber on my own.

Dark golden with a pale head. Aroma is honey, heather, jasmine, apricot, peach blossom. Sticky mouthfeel, quite sweet on the palate, floral and almost cloying finish. Taste is jasmine, peach blossom, heather honey, dried apricot and dried tropical fruits.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
THOUGHTS: A little disappointing. Overly sweet. More like a fruit juice than a beer. Hid alcohol almost too well, making it seem even more like a fruit juice.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a dark amber with a small, off-white head that fully diminished and left virtually no lacing. The aroma had mostly pomegranate juice; light to moderate hazelnut and wheat; light fruity yeast; honey; and odd spices. The initial flavor was moderately sweet, lightly acidic and slightly bitter; while the finish was heavily sweet, moderately acidic, slightly sour and lightly bitter with an average to long duration. There was honey, pomegranate juice, odd spices, hazelnut, and wheat; but mostly pomegranate and raisin. The medium body was sort of syrupy with fizzy carbonation and a dry, slightly metallic and lightly alcoholic finish.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Brownish red appearance. Head disappears very quickly leaving a pretty weak mouthfeel. Honey sweet with some dark fruit flavors. Tried with Jay in Lawrence in 2013.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle to glass. Bronze brown color. Nutty Andalusia but light with lots of liveliness. Very drinkable and easily sessionable despite the abv. Like it a lot

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours sparkling copper with thin white head that quickly recedes. Very complex aroma with elements I couldn’t hope to identify without reading the label. Similarly complex and delightful flavor. Sweet and wine-like... I can definitely detect the pomegranate and a tiny bit of the Gentian (luckily not too much... I find Moxie revolting). Thanks Dogfish for once again showing me that I could’ve managed to survive in a different historical period.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Very interesting beer. Pours a red/copper with a small tanish head. Lots of pomegranate and raisin on the nose. Flavor has the pomegranate and raisin with notes of hazelnut and honey. Really complex and well-balanced I don’t feel like any one flavor overpowers the others. It is a sweeter brew but I don’t think it’s super sweet to the point of it being a negative. Very interesting beer, I love that DFH always tries new things with their beer!

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sweet aroma with raisins, fruit, honey, and spice. Flavor is rich and sweet with orange, grape, and spice, with some drying alcohol in the finish. If you can handle your beer on the sweet side, this is pretty enjoyable and definitely a change of pace.
