Beer is a pale pinkish and brown color.
Good belgian style flavoring. The hints of berry are prevailing and do a great delicate dance with the malty undertones. Alcohol is noticeable but not harsh. A very nice drink. A somewhat busty drink.
Not the best Dogfish Head has ever made, but a pretty good effort altogether.

Sour aroma, lots of berries, cassis and caramel. Heavy cassis flavour, lots of those berries and a little fruity and light for my taste. Credit to them in that I had no idea I was drinking something that was 10%, and it’s a lot better than Ephemere Cassis, but just not my thing. dcschiller (27), Arizona, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 20, 2010 750ml bottle. pours a red-orange color. Very nice looking beer. The tart berry flavors are noticeable immediately and the high alcohol warmth soon follows. Not nearly as sweet as I thought it would be. My first thought was that this might be lambic-like, but not at all. This is a man’s fruit beer! LtDan (596), Los Angeles County, California, USA

Aroma: Red or blush wine, blueberry, raspberry and booze.
Taste: Blueberry, raspberry and wine.
Mouthfeel: Fizzy.
Overall: Ok for what it is, not beer like at all. patrickfannon (423), Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2009 Bottle. 25.4 oz. Pours hazy, copperish orange with a quickly fading white head. Aroma of blueberries, blackberries, roasted malt, barley, ginger, pepper, clove, and yeast. Medium bodied with a very clean, pungent mouthfeel. Finishes slowly and softly. Outstanding fruit beer from Dogfish Head. nathan30533 (176), Dahlonega, Georgia, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 10, 2009 750 ml bottle. Pours a really interesting shade of amber with hues of purple. The first notes that hit the nose are the nice strong boozy malts. Subtle hints of berries liven up the complexity. The berries come more to the forefront in the flavor while the golden ale base and high alcohol hold them together and prevents the beer from becoming your average overly sweet fruit beers. One of Dogfish Head’s finest. askofficerfriendly (344), Riverview, Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 10, 2009 A: It pours a pretty purplish red color with a nice two finger head that settles to one.
S: Nothing too special here. There is a definite yeasty maltiness to it with a hint of berry. To be honest the smell is so faint I can’t tell you if I am smelling raspberry or blueberry.
T: This one has some spice and fruitiness to it. Nothing really stands out though identifying exactly what it is I taste. It’s not sweet at all in fact it has a nice tartness to it. I wish there was a more pronounced taste from the berries. On a good note it does hide the 10% ABV wonderfully.
M: Very nice here. There is a great bit of carbonation; it’s very creamy yet sparkling.
