Pours with a amber leaning, off-white head and a amber dark nectar body. Aroma is sweet with nearly artificial berry syrup. There is a light tartness to the aroma with berry seeds and light funk. Taste is some what tart, dark berries with a good alcohol balance. Decent carbonation good alcohol presence. Seems like this beer is the basis for DFH Fort. TheBeerOrg (1569), Kentucky, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 28, 2008 Updated: Apr 19, 2009750 mL bottle. Pours a deep amber, no head. Aroma is malty with lots of tart dark fruits. Flavor is sweet on the front and finishes tart. Not a huge fan.
Re-rate after trying again on 4.17.09: Bumping the aroma up from 5 to 7. Has a nice but not overly artificial berry smell with a hint of caramel. Adding a point to the flavor as well. I’m liking the semi tart, but not vinegary finish. Taking overall from 11 to 14. Hophead22 (1087), Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA
