tronraner (1906), Maryville, Tennessee, USA Jul 5, 2009 750 mL bottle. Pours red-orange with large fluffy beige head. The aroma is very blackberry-forward with some faint yeasty spiciness and a little bit of peach iced tea. The flavor is very sweet, like blackberry preserves at first. Then some tea, wood, and caramel hints come through. A bit of peppery yeast keeps it interesting. The finish is dry and warm with alcohol. Decent. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA Jul 5, 2009 Bottle shared at Muckfest 2009 in Lancaster Ohio. Golden pour. Some slight aromas of bread and fruit. Blueberry muffins maybe. Flavor was fairly void of the fruit though, didnt tast that at all. Just a sweet caramel an vanilla flavor. Eh. It was okay. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England Jun 29, 2009 Draugth@Julians, Providence, RI. Not praticularly fruity. Alcohooand yeast in the flavour. But seems less than 10%. Sugary and sweet, but fairly soft. Caramel, with not too many hints of fruit. dnstone (136), , New Jersey, USA Jun 18, 2009 You can definately smell the berries on this but they are very balanced and enjoyable. Refreshing but with a nice kick from the high ABV. oteyj (716), Canterbury, New Hampshire, USA Jun 16, 2009 Copper pour with nice white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is caramel and bready malt with fruity esters, and oddly enough, cheesecake. Flavor is fruity with caramel and molasses. Fiery but manageable alcohol is also present. Palate is decently full with a sticky sugary sweetness and alcohol burn. Very interesting treat. craftycarl21 (513), South Hero, Vermont, USA Jun 16, 2009 Pours a dark copper with a fizzy white head. Aroma of blueberries, blackberries, alcohol, bread, caramel, and cheesecake. Flavor holds similar qualities, but with the alcohol much more pronounced at the finish- the 10% is definitely evident. A good brew, nice sipper. puggy211 (576), cordova, Tennessee, USA Jun 16, 2009 750 ml bottle poured a clear reddish amber with a lasting creamy ivory head. Aromas of blueberry, light blackberry and cookie. Palate was medium bodied crisp and tart. Flavors of blueberry, blackberry and carmel with a crisp dry bitter finish. Blaze312 (129), Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA Jun 14, 2009 22oz bomber. Pours a a darker off pink color. Aroma is sweet and of various types of berries. Flavor is of fruits with a nice tart addition, but overall very sweet too. I’d like to have another one of these very soon.
