Aroma was undistinct berries, slight cherry, cereal grains, slight medicinal notes. Medium bodied with strong carbonation and a dry warm finish. Flavor is a step down from the aroma and tastes like eating a grahm cracker while doing a shot of cough syrup. Although inventive and imaginative this beer is a fail, especially for the money. vtafro (469), , New Jersey, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Bottle. Ruby pour. Flavor is of tart blackberry and taste almost like half beer and half wine. Not a big fan. Although 10% is not even noticed and is easier to dirnk than a wine. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 15, 2009 Updated: Nov 14, 2009On tap at RnH (NYC): Fruity nose. Bright red, orangey pour. Holy crap that’s sour! Blackberries for sure, but it overwhelms any traces of blueberry. Maybe a little blueberry. Not fairly balanced at all- a little similar tasting to rasperry iced tea, but not as refreshing... It does the job for a fruit beer, but if you’re going the fruit route better to go all the way and stick with Krieks. 15072009. Rerated on 14112009, DG. tronraner (1911), Seymour, Tennessee, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 5, 2009 750 mL bottle. Pours red-orange with large fluffy beige head. The aroma is very blackberry-forward with some faint yeasty spiciness and a little bit of peach iced tea. The flavor is very sweet, like blackberry preserves at first. Then some tea, wood, and caramel hints come through. A bit of peppery yeast keeps it interesting. The finish is dry and warm with alcohol. Decent. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

Some slight aromas of bread and fruit. Blueberry muffins maybe. Flavor was fairly void of the fruit though, didnt tast that at all. Just a sweet caramel an vanilla flavor. Eh. It was okay. duff (5474), Surrey, Greater London, England

But seems less than 10%. Sugary and sweet, but fairly soft. Caramel, with not too many hints of fruit. dnstone (163), , New Jersey, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 16, 2009 Copper pour with nice white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma is caramel and bready malt with fruity esters, and oddly enough, cheesecake. Flavor is fruity with caramel and molasses. Fiery but manageable alcohol is also present. Palate is decently full with a sticky sugary sweetness and alcohol burn. Very interesting treat.
