The packaging for this fooled me into dropping $11.99 for a 750 ml bottle. At half the price it would have been worth it - Dogfish Head is on their last strike before I stop picking up special releases. Let’s hope whatever is next in line is better than this or the Red and White. While not a bad beer it is just a so-so hybrid of a fruit beer and Belgian wit. If it could make up its mind to be one or the other it would be an improvement.
Aroma / Appearance - A half finger bleached white head surged to the top of the glass and settled. Underneath was a colorful raspberry hued body which let about half the light filter through. The nose was very fruity - raspberries, blueberries and blackberries - with a hint of yeast underneath. I was expecting either a little stronger profile of one or the other; the mixture weakened the quality of both.
Flavor / Palate - The fruit wave hit the palate on the first sip. A combination of blackberries, blueberries and watermelon created a summery mouthfeel. The aftertaste of yeast and vanilla brought it back into the realm of the Belgian wit. It was an interesting experiment but one that I would not be likely to pick up again. After all, I can pick up Belgian Red for a few dollars less and get a much higher quality experience. Cobra (1061), In a van, down by the river, Maryland, USA

Minimal head. Aromas are of berries, slight Belgian funk, dry straw, some malts, damp basement. Flavors are of malts mostly, with a hint of berries & earthy hops rounding out the flavors. medium mouthfeel, decent body.
Good beer, but needs more fruit. BDR (2154), Roseville, Minnesota, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 21, 2007 Thanks to Badgerben for sharing. Nice red orange color with lots of foamy white head. Smells a lot like a berry potpourri my mother used to have when I was younger Thick fizzy mouth feel with faint blueberry taste. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 20, 2007 Shared by someone at DLD. Not much at all in the ways of an aroma, only a light berry. A slight reddish color. Flavor was nothing special either but not offensive. MullMan (1080), Bloomfield, New Jersey, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2007 tawny copper color, amber at edges. pinkish white tall thick foamy head. aroma is malty sweet and a little raisiny like a BSA, maybe some faint dried berry skins too. flavor starts out watery surprisingly, then a strong dry malt flavor kicks in and is a bit ginny. berry flaors come up late, but dry not sweet. lively carbonation. very dry and bitter malt finish. dry vermouth aftertaste. another overpriced experiment. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 20, 2007 Bottle. High creamy off-white lasting head. Clear and wonderful red brown body. Herbal barley malt aroma. Sweet flavor of plus raisins berries and carramel. Suitable amount of carbonation. Papsoe (14904), Frederiksberg, Denmark
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 20, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Pours a clear, reddish amber with a small, off-white head. Sweetish, berry like notes in the aroma. Fairly full-bodied dominated by the sweet berry notes that lead to a warming, alcoholic finish. Quite delicate. 120507 MesandSim (5818), London, Greater London, England

Bottle @ Københavnske Øldage. Nice colour, red copper golden amber, yup it’s all of those. Fruity, hoppy aroma with some vegetation too, cabbage? Rather sugary and bland in the mouth. Too sweet.
