Commercial Description:
Black & Blue is golden Belgian Ale made with over 300 lbs of fresh blackberries and blueberries. With a deep purple full body and a long-lasting lacy pink head, this ale is both attractive and delicious! It is tart and fruity, like our brewers! The subtle bitterness of Hallertau and Saaz hops shines through the fruit forward flavor and sets the palate aglow. (30 IBUs). This tasty brew has smooth but noticeable alcohol warmth. Belgian yeast gives this brew a characteristically dry spicy finish. The beautiful interplay of fruit, spice, and alcohol is complimented by a soft malt profile, and a high level of carbonation.

Pours a unique orange color with minimal head. Good lacing, however. Bright, fruity aroma. Initial tartness in the flavor is quite nice, also love the generous carbonation. Incredibly well-masked alcohol, but the warmth is still present at the end. A very clean palate, crisp and lively. The berries in this beer appeared a lot more subtly than I had anticipated. A well-crafted fruit beer indeed.

poured orangeish with a head that faded into a lacing that stuck around ,smells of citrus and berries, tastes kinda tart at beginning, and alcohol taste is very well hidden to be 10%. very good

Served cold. Pours a glowing cloudy pinkish tea color with a medium thick white froth. Aroma is light, yeast, old berries, lightly spicy, grainy malt. First taste is like a Belgian triple, yeasty, followed by some tart moldy berries, dried fruit, finishing with way too much alcohol, like a shot of blueberry vodka, grain alcohol, slight burn. There is some blueberry taste but I want more, way more. Dry finish. Heavy mouthful, watery but full, light soft sizzling carbonation. I wish this was something different.

Pours a clear ruby red brown brew with a thick pinkish white head. Fast dissolving head and leaves a sparse lacing. I was expecting a stronger aroma, but you have to really work to get it. When found there is an aroma is sweet berries and roasted malt. Taste is highly carbonated, very tart berries, more spice and hints of cinnamon. Finish is medium body, a little dry and a tart aftertaste. Not bad and it grew on me as I finished my glass.

I don’t know. It’s interesting. Has a nice belgian body to it, but the fruit just doesn’t really work for me. Well done I guess, just not for me.

Bottles many times and recently on draft at BT. Dark berry color with a tinted head. Aroma of berries, can’t really pick ou tthe blueberries bit there are a lot of berries here, black, red, blue and maybe some other colors. Nice sweet aroma and taste is rich and sweet berries too. Not as medicinal as Fort. Some crisp semi sweet tart flavors on the finish. Pretty good.

Thought this one was wonderful. Nice and tart, extremely crisp and the sugars are all berries. Some dry hoppiness adds to the tartness and the yeast is very crisp as well.
