KiDAcE (35), Canton, Ohio, USA Apr 14, 2007 If I seem ’nice’ on my ratings maybe it’s because I have different tastes and have chosen good brews by luck that and the specific store I go to to get these underground brews know how to hook it up. Thanks Randy! This brew is still rockin’. Not yet near an 180 degree tilt. Poured in glass a nice clear orange-red with lots of carbonation bubbles. Little head. Aroma was sweet, berry was detectable as is the malts. In mouth is very thin, coats the palate medium, goes down really smooth, follows with berry sweetness. Crisp, refreshing and great as well as complex. Cheers..... JAF737300 (791), Tampa, Florida, USA Apr 27, 2007 This is what these guys do best. They give you such subtle flavors that it makes the flavor even more pronounced. Nothing is ever topo sweet or shy. It is always right out there. This beer has the black and blueberries that show perfectly! 41cubs (131), , New Jersey, USA May 14, 2009 Amazing beauty of a beer. Pours halfway between orange and purple with a sticky thin white head. Aroma is newly baked bread (the soft inside), and blueberry with a little holiday spice. Flavor is a begian ale with raisins, yeast and sour berries upon sweet berries. Mouthfeel is ridiculous. Big and buttery throughout with an acidity at the end that rounds out this beers representation of all great things belgian-like. This beer peaks my interest in the fruit beer-sour beer genre. Thank You Dogfish. 2009 22 oz. dzzz333 (17), Elkton, Maryland, USA Feb 3, 2009 Its Black!...its Blue!...but it had more of a redish color with pinkish head....Its avg head made it a breeze to pour in my snifter. I just could get over that FRUITY FLAVA FLAVOR! and I highly recommond this potent/fruity beer that even ur girl wil...but it STILL aint for the weak hearted....Final thought...if u like beers that will knock ur socks off but at the same time is very refreshing...u will be hooked like CRAAAAAACCCKKK ROCK! nate4g63 (3), Oil City, USA does not count Jul 22, 2009 my buddy got this on one of our trips to Vintage Estate Wine and Beer in Ohio. Great brew. I’m not crazy into fruit beers but this was amazing. Still looks and feels like beer but the fruit flavoring was perfect. Try it once, its worth it. cewldre (268), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 14, 2007 Bottle: This one poured a reddish brown color with a slightly reddish hue head. I definitely smell mixed berries in this one. I can smell a pretty prevelant amount of blueberry. The taste is indeed warm, as the description says. The flavor seems a tad lacking here. As I continue to drink this one, I definitely begin to taste the blueberry flavor make itself known. I notice just a hint of a banana flavor on the palate as I continue to take sips from this one, but it’s mild at best and gone as soon as I taste it. I am not a big fruit beer fan, but this is enjoyable. wingman333 (233), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA May 20, 2008 Really enjoyed this fruit beer. Pours a deep red with bluish tones, nice head. The berry flavors accentuate a nice strong ale with more sour than sweet notes. Tart, alcohol packs a punch but subtle. Halfway through the bottle the berries begin to monotonize the overall flavor. I’m not a fan of fruit beer but in this case I’ll make an exception. I will get this again. Bill86 (43), Tennessee, USA Jun 4, 2008 Updated: Jun 8, 2008Got a bottle (1 pint 9.6oz) today, a very smooth beer, goes down really easy. Nice berry taste. Really a nice beer. would definitely drink again...infact i think i’ll finish the bottle today. Drank another bottle of this, a fantastic daily drinker. Dogfish head scores again.
