BuckeyeSammy (345), New York City, New York, USA May 13, 2008 A bit of a funky nose. Palate is blackberries and raspberries, balanced but sharp carbonation. Alcohol is incredibly well hidden. Expected it to be more malty. Great beer.
The_Sponge (138), Lynnwood, Washington, USA Jul 20, 2008 750 ml bottle purchased at Bottleworks in Seattle. Pours a reddish purple color with minimal head. (Poured into a small tulip glass.) Flavor: The hints of blackberries and blueberries (duh), but not as strong as you might think.
Out of all of DFH’s "fruity" beers, this one is my favorite. sersdf (844), chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2008 10% opacity, light purple, white head. Smells of light berries, some light sourness, a bit of juniper, and no alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet but subdued. A bit thin. Pretty unimpressive, a bit alcoholic. CaryTheDude (114), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Jul 18, 2008 Swing and a miss by one of my favorite breweries. I just pray I got a bad bottle and that it’s actually good. Sammy (2969), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 17, 2008 Big bubbly off-white head on cloudy grapefruit coloured body. Carbonation bubbles. An interesting tartness that is overcome by maltiness. I understand the tartness comes through in fresher bottle, this one was one year bottle from Crushinator. A good bitterness, very drinkable, creamy mouthfeel, very drinkable.Thick lace left in glass. haggis03a3 (94), Piedmont, California, USA Jul 16, 2008 Pours red with an off white head. Aroma of grain/malt, Belgian yeast, and berries. Flavor is the same plus a pleasant and subtle berry finish which is tangy and dry. This is a unique and complex fruit beer.
