3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Time to pop another cellar-dweller from 2007, I think. Pours a ruddy brown color, fizzy carbonation swirls around some floaties that likely come from secondary yeast. Smells lightly fruity, held in check by a slight hint of old stables, dried apples, and a touch of funk. Taste brings up a dry fruit wine character, heightened by a soda pop fizz. I’m lucky this did NOT go flat in its six years. And the fruit has dried out very nicely, considering blackberries and blueberries can turn out to be just as cloying as raspberry fruit beers. Yes, it cellars very well. If I can just get past the label with what looks like George W. Bush dressed as Gainsborough’s "Blue Boy."

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This beer looks pretty on the pour, nice ruby color and light pink head. A fruity aroma filled with berries and thr tast adds some nice malt and breadiness but isn’t too complex. Sweet on the palate and nice overall.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Very nice fruity beer. Can definitely smell and taste Belgian yeast. The blueberries aren't overwhelming, they blend nicely in the palate.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml bottle shared. Pours a translucent dark copper with a thin beige head of foam. The aroma has mostly malty nuances with just hints at the berries used. Taste is more malty sweetness again. Bigger body, medium carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750mL, Bottled On 4/23/13. Nose is huge fruity juice/puree, superheavy blueberries with a touch of blackberries and vaguely hoppy notes. Pours a dark ruby/pink/orange (probably closer to the former) with a sudsy pink-tinged off-white head. Taste is cloyingly sweet at first but with a extremely jammy and fruit-gummy character that cuts it a bit; alcohol is strong but doesn’t burn, and there’s a mild spicy-peppery undercut at the bottom. Oily medium body, soft and ultra smooth, very low bitterness, light cloves, some fun yeasty-minerally undertones and an overall sense of confidence. Bit of a strange interplay, there are elements here I don’t like at all, but the other, positive elements work really well together and the fruit is on overdrive, which is sort of impressive to taste. Overall, I’m really enjoying it and would love to try it fresh to see if the noble hops clash or complement.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Joe Canals West Deptford.
Appearance: Pours a clear amber with a purple/reddish tinge to it, sort of blush colored. The head is short and white with a light purple hue through it, short lived.
Aroma: The aroma is a bit weak but berries are definitely notable through it with a slight mineral quality. The aroma hints at a slight tartness amongst the fruitiness.
Taste: Berries are noted right on the intro and through to the finish, though they aren’t out of balance. In-fact the berries compliment and add to the mild base, perhaps some straw throughout with a touch of alcohol on the finish that lingers along with berries. The beer hides the alcohol rather well though.
Palate: Full bodied and moderately spritzy.
Overall: This is a solid beer, I like the implementation of the berries, they really compliment the beer nicely. The booze is hidden nicely. I feel like this would compliment some deserts nicely, perhaps a plain cheesecake, despite it lacking much sweetness. Enjoyable brew.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml bottle from Coconuts. Pink reddish purple appearance, kinda hazy with sediment and a pink head. Fresh fruity aroma, tart berries, dark fruit, wine, light floral notes. Similar flavor, sweet and fruity, the alcohol is mostly hidden. Medium body with ample carbonation and a dry finish.

4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
The blackberry and blue berry flavors are very pronounced but go well with the malty profile and mild hop taste. Carbonation enhances the spicy finish. Overall a very fresh taste. Not a fan of fruit beers, but this one is very good.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Vintage 2007: bottled 2/13/07
A: Pours a honey golden with red hue. Less than one finger loose foam slowly dissipates, eventually leaving broken surface of the same. Little visible bubbles.
S: Blackberries and blueberries well here. Below this is a malt backbone. Nothing special. Slightly tart.
T: Very sweet. I was hoping that over the years, the beer would maybe enjoy a little souring, but it seems no infection here. Maybe even not a live bottle.
M: Medium body with light and spritely carbonation. Like a thinned down syrup. Sticks in the mouth a bit. Not too much though.
D: This ale is drinkable, but would prefer more tartness from the berries if at all possible.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap @ Blind Tiger House. Light blurry and lovely amber in the glass. It has a big beige top that’s sticking nicely to the sides of the glass. Nice fruity nose. Not sure what’s been putt in this, but is smells a little bit of blue and blackberries. Could that be a good guess? Nice soft sweetness, some sherbert ice and traces of fruits. Nice. Oh my, not what I expected in the taste. Loaded with sweet berry fruitiness. Lots of American blueberries, raspberries, marmalade, and it has a lot of apply acidity. Really refreshing actually and it keep it from being to sticky and sweet. A good fruit! 16.06.2013
