Commercial Description:
The elusive brew is made from pilsner malt and amber malt with an original gravity of 26.5?P, yielding an 11% abv. It's hopped with Warrior and Glacier varieties. Primary fermentation takes place in open vessels using two yeast strains, one American and one English. For added complexity, the beer is conditioned on barrel staves of French Oak for four months before being dry hopped with Glacier at the rate of a half-pound per barrel. This elixir is then blended 50/50 with 90 Minute IPA. After blending, the beer will measure 80 IBU and 10% abv. Bottled in corked bottles through Michael Jackson’s rare beer club by late November 04 and available in 12 ounce full distribution in early January 05.

Draft at The Thirsty Monk. Pours an off-white, lacing head with a golden amber body. Smells of vanilla, pine, and citrus. Flavor is citrus and spice hops, vanilla, and honey. Finish is bitter and caramel.

Pours an amber-orange with tan fluffy head that desipates with enough to lace. Nice floral citrus aroma with caramel malt and oak. Flavors start with a thin alcohol overcome by carmelized sugar-roasty malt. Flavors warm to a plum brandy with lots of vanillin(oak vanilla and flowery spice). Hops are evident throughout but not dominant what so ever, dries on the finish with an oaky overtone. Not my fav but crazy complex!

I shared a bottle of this with BeerBaron617. It poured a clear orange-amber color with a light tan head. it smells really good. At first, it’s sort of sticky sweet - butterscotch or caramel. It has a very different kind of flavor. Initially, it’s sweet but not overly so. Only after you have a few sips does the hoppyness come out at you. It has an awkward coffee taste to it, and it’s really creamy too. I like this one a lot.

MMMMMMMMMM! This stuff is pretty epic.Shared a 12 oz bottle with MereLikesBeer. It pours a caramel-golden amber with tan head. The aroma is subdued hops. and some slight citrus notes. The flavor is all over. Coffee, toffee, piney.. I could go on. Just do yourself a favor and grab some if you see it. Cheers!

Nice amber color with nice thick creamy head. Has a the taste of an IPA with a smokey malt after taste. It is another interesting beer from Dogfish head the high alcohol content is well hidden. Worth a try but much to expansive for everyday beer. I think the 90 minute is much better and close to the same price.

Copper/amber pour with thin tan head. Wonderful floral aroma of citrus and hops. Tastes of complex resinous malt and piney grapefruit plus some dark fruit and honey, with a finish that is sweet and with a lingering hoppy bitterness.
