dchmela (1406), Orlando, Florida, USA May 29, 2008 12oz bottle courtesy MaltaJoe. Pours a deep copper amber with a thicck off white head. Hints a malt, oak, caramel in the aroma, but not overpowering. Taste is slightly sweet malty, with a hop bitterness that give a lot of citrus grapefruit dryness. Really big overpowering hop attack in the taste that you just can’t see coming in th aroma. Leaves a hop, grapefruit bitter aftertaste. Very enjoyable beer. blipp (1631), Newark, New Jersey, USA May 28, 2008 Bottle. Pours red/orange with a lasting beige head. Fruity aroma with citric hops and caramel. Medium, smooth body. Soft hops in the flavor, great balance of bitter and sweet, also a note of caramel. Aging gives it an interesting dimension, though I don’t know if it really makes it any better. Nice nonetheless. incutrav (576), Woodbury, Minnesota, USA May 28, 2008 Lots of hops in the aroma, not a lot of hop bite though as I was hoping. Not sure what the oak aspect does for this, as this tastes VERY similar to the 90 minute. Taste is way more sweet of molasses and sugars then that of hops, or oak. Its a pretty good beer, but i dont think its 14 bucks a 4 pack good. shintriad (698), Toronto, Ontario, Canada May 27, 2008 Some crazy stuff. Bronzish orange with a massive head with a whipped pudding consistency. Nose is incredibly hoppy, flavour doesn’t match -- lots of brown sugar, tropical fruit, apples, plus woody notes and alcohol. Bit of an odd combo, not sure it works, but I appreciate the effort. phiconners (122), Massachusetts, USA May 27, 2008 Pours a dark copper. Alcohol and oak flavors come through, but it killed the hoppiness for me. Not crazy about it. mephisto (1144), Taiwan May 21, 2008 a very drinkable double ipa. the appearance is copper colored with a thin layer of beige foam, the aroma is citrusy and the flavor is sweet and hoppy. 10%drunk (12), Auburn, Washington, USA May 20, 2008 The first time I have seen this beer it was sitting next to the 90 minute and it was about a buck more so I thought that dog fish did even better than the godfather of ipa’s? well I hate to say it but no way. I can taste what they were trying to do but how can you make old ninety any better guys? Maybe brew it in gold barrels... ThaBobfather (178), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 17, 2008 This is one of my favorite DFH beers. This is a great experiement mix beer and it really enjoyed it’s woody flavor.
