Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 7, 2005 A hazy orange beer with a dense orange head. The aroma is sweet fruity on an alcoholic backdrop. The flavor is fruity with mango and passionfruit being most dominant, leading to an end, that mixes in some wood notes. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 4, 2006 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a beautiful, clear, dark amber with a creamy, off-white head. Soft, sweetish aroma with lots of oak. Very full body with lots of caramel and roasted malt. Some sherry-like notes. Extremely alcoholic finish that even the solid body cannot really uphold. Hoppy finish, but not overly so. Thanks to Degarth for sharing. 030406 omhper (12155), Stockholm, Sweden Jul 5, 2005 Bottled, thanks JCW! Clear amber, small head. Sweet with notes of passion fruit and lychee. There’s candy sugar and peppery alcohol as well as plum brandy and some fruity apples. Intriguing and complex, but too sweet. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Mar 14, 2007 Bottle. Clear amber color with a small white / off-white head. Aroma is heavy malty, fruit, heavy hoppy, pine, oak, alcoholic. Flavor is heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration. Body is full, texture is syrupy, carbonation is flat, finish feel is moderate alcoholic. I think it is a cross between barley wine and IIPA. But very nice :o)) MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Dec 16, 2004 Bottle. Very nice hop aroma, balanced nicely by sweetness. Cloudy dark urine colour. Aftertaste is slightly bitter, but more aromatic. Great beer. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 22, 2006 Bottle.

fiulijn (7150), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Oct 16, 2008 Courtesy of friend Matteo Cloudy amber color, very thin head. Powerful aroma, malty, with a hint of sweet vanilla. Full bodied, with a strong and very sweet malt flavor, as I like, some caramel and toffee too, lightly fruity. The bitterness is not as powerful as expected, maybe softenend by the oak-ageing; in the final and with the time passing by, the caramel rises. An excellent Barley Wine. I like this kind of beer, but maybe missing some character.
