Pours a goldish amber, with an off-white head. Aroma is pure raw hops. Pretty good lacing. Mouthfeel pretty smooth and full, seems not to have stickiness of 90 or 120 Min. DFH. This tastes sweet and hoppy but not sharply so. Definitely has a mellower feel than 90 or 120 Min. Some vanilla notes. A bit of astringency. The aging/blending seems to take some of the harsh edge off the 90 Min. so I prefer this (still would probably take the 60 Min. over any of them). Alcohol pretty well-hidden. Taste akin to the 90 min IPA, but richer, sweeter and a musty oak flavor. Amazing head and lacing for a 10% beer. Kept going back and forth in my mind over whether this was too sweet or not, but a nice, enjoyable and unique brew. Very heavy...I couldn’t drink more than one of these, but like many DFH brews, and experience everyone should try at least once. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA

Poured an effervescent deep golden with a small semi-creamy off-white head. Aroma is somewhat subdued but fruity and rather malty, with some piney hops and alcohol... sort of like a weak barley wine. Taste is very much like a cross between a barley wine and a IIPA, though thankfully (for me anyways) the balance is definitely shifted towards IIPA. Fruity malt accents next to strong somewhat one-dimensional hops, with a large alcoholic character. Very interesting, though I would have condsidered classifying this as an ASA. Aroma of floral hops, with some fruity malt and wood. Flavor is good, though slightly overpowered by the oak at times. The hops come through on the finish. Pretty good overall. redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 16, 2007 Seeing the picture takes me back to the old 90 minute bottles, I miss those 750’s. Well I had a 12 oz bottle and I did not care for it much. I dont care for oak-barrel aged IPA’s as I dont think they work very well. The aging subdues the hops making this a BW, IMO. A dark brown color, small head. Taste and aroma are sweet. The main thing I got out of this was it tasted old, sort of like some British bottled beers we get over here in the US. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

Crystal clear reddish orange color with a white 1 inch head. I could taste the 90 minute from the beginning. This beer had a much smoother finish no doubt due to the oak barrel. Hoppy. I am happy i stumbled across this one. matta (1139), Tampa, Florida, USA

I don’t know how DFH does it, but all their beers look like artwork as they sit in the glass. I still reside with all my previous remarks on this Ale, but I’m bumping up the score because it is so freaking drinkable at 10%abv.
I must thank my local friend BeanDip for bringing this 750bottle to the little get-together was had last weekend.
Poured a viscous bronze body and a fluffy eggshell colored dollop of foam. From memory; but I had quite a bit of the bottle myself… the aroma and flavor were rather restrained for a DFH offering. There was an awesome blending of malt, which brought out a fine complexity of caramel, toffee and a flaky buttery biscuit likeness. The hops were almost too controlled... it was like the cask conditioning leached all the hoppy aromas and flavors then later replacing them with large woody, oak like submissions. There was a small clue of where the hops once lay.. hints of citrus and pine.
The palate was most splendid. Big and chewy… There was a nice complexity within this beer… It’s just something that one has to look for.
