The elusive brew is made from pilsner malt and amber malt with an original gravity of 26.5?P, yielding an 11% abv. It's hopped with Warrior and Glacier varieties. Primary fermentation takes place in open vessels using two yeast strains, one American and one English. For added complexity, the beer is conditioned on barrel staves of French Oak for four months before being dry hopped with Glacier at the rate of a half-pound per barrel. This elixir is then blended 50/50 with 90 Minute IPA. After blending, the beer will measure 80 IBU and 10% abv. Bottled in corked bottles through Michael Jackson’s rare beer club by late November 04 and available in 12 ounce full distribution in early January 05.

Amber pour with a thick white head. Oak, hopy, vanilla smell. Nice malt body with hints of vanilla, oak flavor and hops take over on the finish. Very smooth beer all the way through, this is top of the line.

Clear caramel golden, soft dusty white head and decent ring with rounded lacing. Nose is spicy, ginger and marmalade with a woody backbone. Initial taste is a rich upfront booziness that clears the decks. Vibrant maltiness and juicy sweetness. Carbonation is still firm and mouthfeel is fairly lean. Finishes a weep of more boozy sweetness and firm woody linger. Good times. And over a year old?

Had several times. Like it more that 90 minute. Nice one to drink real slow. This one has had a lot of thought and effort. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
