COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The elusive brew is made from pilsner malt and amber malt with an original gravity of 26.5?P, yielding an 11% abv. It's hopped with Warrior and Glacier varieties. Primary fermentation takes place in open vessels using two yeast strains, one American and one English. For added complexity, the beer is conditioned on barrel staves of French Oak for four months before being dry hopped with Glacier at the rate of a half-pound per barrel. This elixir is then blended 50/50 with 90 Minute IPA. After blending, the beer will measure 80 IBU and 10% abv. Bottled in corked bottles through Michael Jackson’s rare beer club by late November 04 and available in 12 ounce full distribution in early January 05.

0.33cl bottle served in a tulip. Appearance: Pours a dark golden brown with a large, fine, frothy beige head. Aroma: spruce, hops, cinnamon, hints of candy. Palate: thick bodied, creamy, slight film left in the mouth, long nice finish. Definitely noticing the 90 here. Taste: Slightly sweet, hints of bitterness in the finish. More candy than spruce, given the aroma. Really nice.

Bottle pour of a hazy amber orange with a very small off white head. Aroma of fresh orange zest, grapefruit, candied orange peel and small bourbon oak. Taste of sweet smokey malt and oak earthiness with a hint of light citrus that's ends with a slight but deep bourbon bite. Med body with a oily body that has a small bourbon alcohol bite. Overall a complex and enjoyable beer that is great combo of my favorite beer type and bourbon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours copper with a creamy white head. Good lacing. Earthy aroma with hints of citrus and alcohol. The flavor is boozy with orange, vanilla, and oak notes. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Low to medium carbonation. The finish is fairly dry with some warming alcohol.

Sweet aroma. Golden grain in color. Very piney and hoppy. Intense. Bit strong on the alcohol. Might buy another one to cellar it. Would like to try this after it’s toned down a bit for 2 or 3 years.

This beer was served in a tulip glass. It has a deep orange hue with citrus and floral notes. Even though it is 10% ABV, it is very smooth and doesn’t have a heavy alcohol taste. Really enjoyed it.

Reviewed from notes. This was poured into a tulip. The appearance was a nice looking hazy golden orange to amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light clingy lacing sticking and then sliding into the beer. The smell started off with a resinous citrus to piney bittering sort of sharp hoppiness about it and then allows a nice slightly woodiness to enter into some sharp sweet caramel malts. The taste was entirely bittersweet, no ifs ands or buts, all the way through just like a spectacular DIPA should be. On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body as I tended to sip it for the most part. It had a slight sharp carbonation about it. Bitterness was there but nothing overbearing. Overall, very good DIPA that I would definitely have again.

12 oz bottle from Whole Foods in Hillsboro, OR. Aroma has hints of toffee, biscuit, resinous hops, and whiskey. Mouthfeel is boozy, sharp, and syrupy, with a bitter finish. Has a strong, malty sweetness that is decently balanced out by the earthy bite from the hops. There are a lot of big flavors here, but it goes down ridiculously easy for such a high alcohol beer!

Poured from a 12oz bottle from Whole Foods. Aroma is very unassuming, like a prelude to an easy drinking beer. Taste is a bit hoppy (floral) on the tongue but not overly sweet, overly piney or overly floral. It is just there with some hints of vanilla. Aftertaste is ever so slightly bitter with a hint of the 10%. This is the most perfectly balanced beer. I really enjoyed this one!
