COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The elusive brew is made from pilsner malt and amber malt with an original gravity of 26.5?P, yielding an 11% abv. It's hopped with Warrior and Glacier varieties. Primary fermentation takes place in open vessels using two yeast strains, one American and one English. For added complexity, the beer is conditioned on barrel staves of French Oak for four months before being dry hopped with Glacier at the rate of a half-pound per barrel. This elixir is then blended 50/50 with 90 Minute IPA. After blending, the beer will measure 80 IBU and 10% abv. Bottled in corked bottles through Michael Jackson’s rare beer club by late November 04 and available in 12 ounce full distribution in early January 05.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with medium head. Fairly alcohol-heavy aroma, with hops and a lot of notes from the malt - quite similar to the 90-minute, actually. The flavor profile is pretty similar, too - a lot of hops, alcohol, and a woody finish. Nothing out of this world, but pretty nice.

12fl oz bottle poured into a Dogfish IPA glass. Pours the color of honey with a ton of off white head. Aroma is strong oak and alcohol. Flavor is wood, vodka, slight vanilla. I think there's a lot more going on here but the alcohol is too overpowering to tell. The finish is long and bitter with alcohol warmth. Interesting and very strong but a bit too much to want another. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Almost too much of everything. Very sharp in the flavor, quite spicy almost. AFtertaste is quite dry but with a deep lingering orange fruit aftertaste that lasts forever. You can taste it’s 10%

12 ounce bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a thick, rich creamy beige head about one finger high. Aroma of rich toasted malt with hints of caramel and earthy oak. Floral hops appear as well. First sip yields a complex bittersweet oaky malt flavor with dry spicy hops. Perfectly balanced and complex, with obvious bourbon notes. The finish brings notes of cognac and rich vanilla bean. This is amazingly delicious. Don’t miss it.

Bottle pour of a hazy amber orange with a very small off white head. Aroma of fresh orange zest, grapefruit, candied orange peel and small bourbon oak. Taste of sweet smokey malt and oak earthiness with a hint of light citrus that's ends with a slight but deep bourbon bite. Med body with a oily body that has a small bourbon alcohol bite. Overall a complex and enjoyable beer that is great combo of my favorite beer type and bourbon. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours copper with a creamy white head. Good lacing. Earthy aroma with hints of citrus and alcohol. The flavor is boozy with orange, vanilla, and oak notes. Medium body with a smooth mouthfeel. Low to medium carbonation. The finish is fairly dry with some warming alcohol.

Sweet aroma. Golden grain in color. Very piney and hoppy. Intense. Bit strong on the alcohol. Might buy another one to cellar it. Would like to try this after it’s toned down a bit for 2 or 3 years.
