3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle pour, citrus yellow color with a nice white head. Nose is floral and resinous with cut grass with some malt hints. The taste is citrus hop bitterness with some malt sweetness. Noticeable alcohol but fairly easy to drink. Not bad at all.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
A: Pours a hazy copper on red ale with a little under one finger of burnt cream head. This sticks around for quite some time before finally becoming a quilt of the same. Cobweb lacing.
S: Earthy and floral hops mix with evident oak. Even at this age, the beer maintains the hop profile in the nose. Below decks is a nice malty background and plenty of caramel and crystal malting.
T: Sweet. cherry, orange, sweetened lemons. Weirdly fruity, this one. The oak comes through on the back end and retains a presence through the finish. Not terribly complex, but quite tasty. Bitterness is subdued, a little sweeter than I would prefer for the style.
M: Medium to light body for the style with a little higher carb than preferred. Semi dry finish.
O: Good beer. I haven’t had this fresh in a couple years, next time I see this in my area within a couple months of bottle, I will be on it.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
0.355l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. Got the last of the bottle so it’s quite murky and hazy in the glass. A blend of amber and orange in color and the head is lacing and just off-white in color. Sweet malty and super okay aromas going on here. Red fruits and pepper. Lovely nose! Doesn’t taste any worse really. Sticky and thick in the mouth with a soft gentle only prickling carbonation level. Oxidized and woody. Really balanced on the bitterness. Lots and lots of flavor going on here! Biscuits and it’s almost a bit salty in a way. The age has done this really good, almost turned it in to a barley wine. 18.12.2013

4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Great heavy beer without overwhelming alcohol taste and nice balance of hops and malt. Great hazy orange color, smooth tight palate. Solid!

18.12.2013, 0,35l bottle sampled @ BBGTC Christmas tasting:
Nice creamy mediumlasting head. Aroma is slightly fruity, caramel malts, old hops, wet leafs, hop pellets, pine needles, citrus peel, oak, alcohol. Taste is slightly harsh and dry, caramel malts, wet leafs, citrus peel, pine needles, alcohol, hop pellets, grass, soil, oak, hints of cardboard. Longlasting bitterness, dry mouthfeel. Fair enough.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle, shared with BBGTC. Pours a slightly hazy amber body with a small white head. Aroma is citric tones, wood, dense caramel, alcohol, creamy herbal notes and hints of ammonia or urine - but in a good way :-D Taste is caramel, near-tart wooden notes, cream, hints of herbs and licorice. Full body, soft to medium carbonation. Very nicely balanced with loads of flavor. One of the best I’ve had from DFH.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Clear golden with a small head. Heavy oaked aroma with subtle pine and spruce. Taste is well balanced but still bitter. Loads of oak and caramel also. Medium mouthfeel with soft carbonation.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a dark amber color with a medium off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, sugary sweetness, and earthy/resinous hops. Taste is much the same but smooth with no harsh bitterness. On the cusp of being an American Barley Wine.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy amber pour with a red-copper core and a 1 finger, off white head that has great retention and leaves decent lacing. Aroma is full of citrus hops and caramel, some sweet woody notes, a touch of vanilla, biscuit, tree fruit and light spicy hops. Flavor is caramel, sweet untoasted oak and biscuit up front, then some sweet apple and pear tree fruit, toasty cereal, a little spice, lots of sweet and bitter citrus, like tangerines and grapefruit, just a touch of passion fruit and some spiced caramel apple, cooked citrus and earthy wood to the finish. Medium body with a creamy, chewy entry, moderately carbonated with a still slightly chewy, but dry finish. Really good stuff, it lacks a little of the hop intensity that most good IIPA’s have, but makes up for it by having a great balance and being delicious. I would think this would be a very approachable IIPA for the inexperienced.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Quelconque.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle from Voldby. Hazy reddish amber with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel and rather hoppy - peach and grapefruit. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish with warming alcohol. 101213
