4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: DEC 31, 2011 Bottle. The pour was a clear medium amber that had a slight yellow hue around the edges of the glass with a large (2-3 finger) rocky white head that was mostly lasting and had excellent lacing.
The aroma was heavy of herbal hops, caramel malts and a sweet yeast with hints of oak, honey and citrus (Grapefruit and maybe a little orange).
It tasted mildly sweet and a little acidic with a nice caramel note in the beginning. Then progressed into a hoppy-bitter-sour flavor with a nice citrus note and a mild alcohol finish, which left the flavor lingering for a good long time after the swallow.
Mouthfeel was just a tad under medium in body with the texture being smooth and creamy and having a very nice soft carbonation.
Overall a fantastic Imperial IPA that has a nice mix of sweet and hoppy with a nice citrus undertone. I really enjoyed this brew, even though I am just starting to appreciate hoppy brews.

A nice sweet flowery aroma emanates from the glass. Medium white head forms after pouring. A medium feel when drinking. The flavor is a boozy sweet citrus flavor with a little oak mixed in. This is one brew I would get again in a heart beat!

Iím not convinced the aging helped this beer. All the bright floral and citrus notes are gone replaced with sweet, malty, bourbon. Its heavy and not in a great way. Would not buy again

4.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled 9/30/14, drank 2/5/15. The nose has a light malt sweetness and some notes of plum. Wonderful thick head that slowly dissipates, leaving a thin white layer of foam. Decent lacing. Initially the taste is a very sweet, rich malt flavor followed by some slight bitterness and a citrus burst at the end. Then this leaves an amazing burnt caramel toffee flavor thatís incredible for a beer like this. Then vanilla starts to come through (the only aspect that would lead me to think this was barrel aged). Itís very thick and syrupy but it works so well here. It somehow finishes on the dry end and leaves only the caramel/toffee flavor I mentioned earlier. Iím excited to see what age does to this

Vintage 10/23/13 pours a dark orange/ medium brown. Small, thin medium off white head. Aroma is all malt, bread, caramel, roasty. Flavor is very good. Does not taste like an imperial IPA. I get almost no hops except a nice piney resin linger. Great beer, thatís why I rated high. But truly a Barleywine.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Nice copper looking IPA. Medium head and full body looking beer. Aromas are pretty mch woody and malty. Not much hops on the nose. Taste and palate are very aggressive though. The mouthfeel is a bit oily and carbonation is medium/low wich makes the body even heavier, as it is already heavy from his aok aging. Alcohol is well balanced as opposed to itís very low hoppiness expected from an IPA. I get fine honey flavours in the biginning then comes the intense and loong woody flavours in the back of the mouth. Malts and wood, this is pretty much what you have to expect from this beer, wich is a good one though!

This is really tasty - a bit more oakey complication than just straight up 90 min. Really nicely balanced between aggressive malt and hops. Nice.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Hazy red-amber with an off-white head. Aroma of orange, grapefruit, toffee, oak, resin. Body is a robust medium, semi-syrupy, smooth, and sticky. Huge malt backbone with plenty of bitter hops coming through. Well done.
