3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 VTHopHead (1331) - Barre, USA - MAR 7, 2010
Bottle/25.6 - Pours a clear orange-amber in color with a very small white head and low carbonation. Aroma is not strong, but there is some honey, grapes, green apples and other fruity esters. Flavor is fairly sweet with the grapes and honey dominating the profile. Never had hawthorn (if it has this in it), but there are some flavors that I cannot identify clearly. Some hop bitterness that offsets some of the sweetness. Finish is quite sweet and lingering. I think that it is OK, but it may be a bit too unusual for some folks...
4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20 sulawang (149) - British Columbia, CANADA - FEB 8, 2012
pours golden orange, slightly cloudy, smallish head, ringed retention, micro CO2, thicker runny lacing, lots and lots of CO2 streams. A rather muted nose. Drinks really really creamy up front, velvety silky soft CO2, 6/10 tangy fruity green grape, mild 2/10 bitterness in the mids, slightly bitter ale finish. Medium complexity, medium depth, excellent carry, love the transitions, medium length. Very well balanced and doesn’t drink like a beer at all - more like a sparkling fruit wine. Could drink this over and over again.

Hazy golden pour, on draught at Churchkey. Really reminded me a lot of Midas Touch; some sweet nectar fruit, strange herbal notes, and light vinous sweetness on both the nose and tongue. Not impressed.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Hangover (926) - Atlanta, USA - JAN 20, 2012
Hazy golden pour with a thin white head. Aroma definitely has the advertised honey and grape with a little bit of funky yeastiness. Mouthfeel is oily with medium carbonation. More grape flavor with white cherries, honey and a silghly sour back end. Lingering honey and sourness. So odd but pretty tasty. Guess the primitives weren’t living all that bad 9,000 years ago.

Bottle 750ml. @ chriso [ oh6gdx birthday bash tasting ].
Clear medium yellow orange colour with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, riped fruit, mint, grapes - wine, bubble gum, wood, light caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a long duration, mint, riped fruit. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111203]

Bottled@my birthdaybash@Chriso. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is fruity, mild maize and ricelike sweetness, some yeast as well as quite herbal notes. Flavour is rather similar ending in a rather fruity and honeylike sweetness. Not overly sweet though. Interesting and pleasant.

This is what I love about Dogfish, I have no idea what to expect from this beer when I purchase it. Pours a clear golden yellow with a slightly fizzy white head that somewhat stays. Aroma is like a tripel, dry, yeasty, with a sweet grape juice twang to it. Taste is slightly sweet but also dry and yeasty. It has a chardonnay twist to it, it’s a fun beer.

Really enjoyed this beer, sweet and fruity, not the sort of beer I want to drink pints of, but a snifter would be a good way to taste some. Will have to try some more of the DFH specials!!

Bottled at oh6gdx’s birthday bash at chriso’s. Clear golden, small head. Fruity glue aroma. Super sweet with loads of sugar and not all that much else, perhaps some honey and artificial sweetener. I am glad to report that brewing has progressed since the stone age...
