SB (287), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 8, 2006 Bomber. Poured very cloudy. Looked like apple juice. Very tiny, fizzy, white head. Aroma was very faint. Flavor like a fruity riesling. Hints of grape. Mild sour aftertaste, but not much. Mild tasting beer. No sign of the alcohol. Malty. Meshes well. Medium bodied. extremely easy to drink. I liked it. It was different for sure.
stefanje (479), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Jul 11, 2008 750 ml bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Pours a cloudy dark yellow color with a small white head that soon fades to a fine film. The aroma is unusual and spicy, there are fruits in here that I can not identify. The flavor is rich with honey and spicey white grapes, there is also an odd vegetable taste. The mouthfeel is full and malty. The finish is long with lingering honey. Overall: This is a most unusual tasting ale, one that is an acquired flavor, and a flavor that I have not yet acquired. I do however, appreciate the effort to boldly brew new(and old) beers. Rciesla (712), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Jul 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden body with a white body. Well they said it all rice, honey, grapes some orange. Some hoppy floral character. I kept thinking at least its 9%. GregClow (2286), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 1, 2008 Bottle sample at DFH/beerbistro dinner. Deep golden with a thin white head. Aroma is interesting - earthy and spicy with a strong floral honey character - really nice! Body is soft. Flavour is wonderfully sweet and complex - honey, grapes, apple and spice - with a quick, warm finish. Always great to see experiments like this work out so well. alexanderj (1194), Roanoke, Virginia, USA Jun 22, 2008 Bottle; courtesy of kleyland, with a little bit of age on it. Pours a dirty oarange color with a thin and very short lasting head. Weird pour. Aroma of honey, apples, grape; a touch medicinal, but no to offputting. Flavor of honey and grapes mostly; only a touch sweet, not overly. Medicinal with a touch of spice. Can see how this would be hit or miss for some. To me it wasn’t a complete miss, but nothing very exciting. Interesting concept though. mcbackus (562), Merritt Island, Florida, USA Jun 18, 2008 bottled on 08/06: pours a very murky golden ginger coour with a samll quick white head. aroma is honey, ginger spice, white grape juice, slight apple, and a slight tang and flowers. flavour is very smooth and lighter than excpected, honey sticky sweet malts adn grape juice concentrate, flowers. finishese with some honey and very quickly. a very good beer that i really enjoyed picking apart. much better as it has aged.
