On tap, pours a really dark brown color with a medium tan head that leaves good lacing. Smells of coffee, roasted malt, dark chocolate and black licorice. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with a slight spicy wood flavor I’m assuming is the Chicory. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy with great carbonation. Overall this is a great coffee stout but all the other things going on flavor wise mute the coffee flavor a bit. Still a solid Dogfish beer all around.

Good smokey, roasty stout with mexican coffee, barley, malt, oats, and some flavorful hops.

Bouteille de 12oz. Merci Patrick. Produit particulier.

I’d be reluctant to have this marked out as a session beer, I think that the overall impression of sweetness would make it a difficult ask after a few. If you were working through a few beers in a evening with friends this would be a magnificent part of that journey, it offers a lot to talk about and mull over., and you’d need a couple because it’s just that nice.
I would recommend this to friends and I would buy it again.

Dark brown, clear, tan head. Big coffee nose with some chocolate as well. Flavor is chocolate, coffee, cocoa, a cinnamon-like spiciness (possibly from the chicory, which I'm not familiar with), a little licorice and an earthy note. Has a biscuity dryness at the end. Interesting.

Standard looking stout, not a creamy one. The roasted malt and style of coffee seem to clash, giving off a bite that's not all together terrible, just slightly. Still, drinkable.

Dark black pour with a finger width light tan head. Smells strongly of coffee but with a very balanced taste and a smooth mouth feel, definitely a solid stout.

Pouring a very dark brown with a touch of red with a tall, frothy, cappuchino’ed-milk head, this beer looks quite appealing. The nose has bitter cocoa and toasty malt, but an unsettling slight sourness as well. The flavor is similar, more coffee coming out on the tongue, with nice hops that balance but do not overpower, but still that undesired sour element. Drinks down very easily because it is so well-balanced, seeming quite dry and quaffable. I have to admit I can’t really get the chicory, although I can buy that it serves as a smoothing agent.
Very easy to like and interesting compared to many dry stouts, but the flavor profile lacks the complexity I was expecting out of Dogfish Head. I know, that’s probably not fair...
