3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at GABF. Dark pour by Sam himself. Very salty and herbal with a nice malt backbone. It’s very unique and something quite special. Like an oyster stout there is a earthy, dirty, salty, and gritty flavor to it that make it special and nice. Really good.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Sample at GABF 2013. Pours near black with a small beige head. Aroma is exactly what it says on the tin.. Lobster, smell of the sea, seaweed, dark chocolate, roast and a vegetal note. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter, light to moderate salty. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sample @ GABF 13, handed by Sam himself. Pours a dark brown beer with a medium sized, beige head. Aroma has lobster in it strangely enough. Also some chocolate and floral notes in there. Flavour has some saltyness to it. Lobster is not shining trough. Quite a watery mouthfeel, big chocolate notes in it. Decent brew for sure.

UPDATED: APR 7, 2013 Thanks to Bill for sharing this DFH rarity. This is wicked hodd ta get.
The beer is black with an inch of head. The aroma is roast and chocolate, relatively mild. Additional scents of salt and light spice. This must be the lobster. The flavor is nice. Sea salt and chocolate with a dry finish. Some Irish stout character. Interesting beer.

On tap at the brewpub in Rehobeth Beach. Didn’t realize this was rating 500 at the time, but seems fitting enough. I must say that this caught me off guard. Its actually a very solid porter, but the lobster/sea water/Asian seafood buffet quality is just subtle enough to throw you for a loop. It did grow on me as it went down though. Nose is of sea water, hazy caramel, mocha, light mojito, mixed cereal grains, roasted dark grains, herbal hop, and earth. Maybe not all that interesting at first whiff, but the subtleties are there. A pretty pour, quite carbonated, with a deep cream head, and a dark chocolate brown, medium-light body. The feel is also well carbonated, yet rich and creamy. Balance is weighted toward the malt, but still but still a good herbal bitter and sea water finish. But really, somehow this sea water works. Also, with rich toffee, mocha, malted cereal grains and earth. Ultimately, this is like drinking a bold porter in the ocean, not merely by the ocean.

Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Nice chocolate roast scent, very fishy taste that was not bad for someone who hates seafood.

GABF pour. Insane long line for this beer. Glad I didn’t have to wait. Pours a brown color, tan head. Aroma is roasty and straight forward porter notes. Flavor of cocoa, light molasses, roast. No lobster notes to speak of, but still a solid brew!

Interesting - no lobster flavor which I was kind of hoping for. Tasted just like a standard porter. Poured dark black with a nice head and bitter flavor.

On tap into a pitcher at GABF. Overall a nice roasty porter...I had hoped for more lobster presence. It is also a little watery in the mouthfeel. All in all very enjoyable.
