On tap at DFH in Rehobeth. Poured a black color with a tan head. Chocolate, roast, herbal, and some saltiness. Wish I got lobster out it!

Very good porter, although I think I missed the lobster / seafood flavors. Maybe I was expecting too much, but I seemed to miss the entire boat. I thought I tasted a very tiny hint of a seafood-type of flavor. It tasted like when you boil shrimp, scallops or some other kind of seafood and drink the water afterward. The beer poured a pitch black color with an ample brown head. There wasnít much lacing left in the glass though. I got a lot of chocolate in the nose, along with some barley, toasted malt and coffee. The flavors were pretty typical of a porter, with notes of chocolate, cream, coffee, toasted barley and oats.

Appearance: Pitch black body, creamy tan head.
Aroma: Smells more herbal than anything, hints of chocolate.
Taste: Chocolate and herbs like rosemary.
Palate: Medium bodied, foamy carbonation.
Overall: Weird. Basil or herbs have no reason to be in this.

Beautiful dark body, nice head. Aromas of chocolate and coffee with some briney notes. Smooth, sweet, roasty, and slightly bitter.

On draft at Stogies and Stouts 2016. Pours a cocoa brown with a tan head. Nose is huge herbs, bay, lobster seasoning, and some brine with cocoa and chocolate. Flavor is similar with a hint of mole, old bay spices, some cocoa, and hints of brine and seafood. A weird beer. Medium in body and lingering brine into the finish.

On tap at York River Landing, Maine. This is one wacky beer -- itís not every day that Iím left struggling to tell if the basil or the lobster comes through more! I love the creativity that led them to even come up with this idea, let alone make it. The end product is (unsurprisingly) pretty crazy. Itís got some of that oily, meaty taste Iíve had from oyster stouts and the two or three beers Iíve had brewed with meat, and itís got an herbal quality from the basil. Moderately thin. OK, but all over the place; one heck of a creative beer.

Dark black in color... Aroma of sea water, maybe some lobster notes... Hint of cocoa, basil on the nose... Flavor is fairly salty, gentle chocolate notes, ocean water... Hint of lobster on the palate... Interesting ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a black brown color with a foamy light brown head. Nose dark chocolate and roasted malt with a decent dash of basil and some brine. Would be great with oysters.

10/21/15. Growler shared by Carl. Thanks, I guess. Dark brown pour with a small tan head. Nasty shellfish aroma, like cheap chowder, mixed with herbs and mild chocolate and coffee. Why on earth would anyone do this? The flavor isnít as bad, the shellfish is milder, chocolate and herbs pop subtly. Glad to have tried, donít need any more.
