Out of the various festival-exclusives that Sam has brewed for EBF to date, this was my personal favorite. A very interesting take on rauchbier with smokiness and a bit of the beautiful saltine cracker character of Gose. Not something I could consume a pint of, but solid for a festival beer.

Pouring at the Saturday sessions of Extreme Beerfest. Pours a hazed amber brown with a thin white head. Faint campfire, smoke, toast. Chewy smoke, toast. Long smoke and earthy hop bite, more campfire on the finish.

On tap at Rehoboth. Cloudy and copper. Smells bready. Doughy malts with a salty medicinal aftertaste. Reminds me of chloriseptic, which isn’t good.

Brewpub exclusive. Cloudy copper/orange color with very little to no head. Aromas are woody, grassy, and slightly sour. Taste is malty, wood, sour with an almost salty after taste.

This draft brew from the brew pub poured a head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a uncarbonated transparent orange colored body and a poor lacing. The mild aroma was orange peel and musty. The crisp mouth feel was tingly at the start with a mellow finish with a mellow hoppy aftertaste. The good flavor contained notes of wheat sweet chamomile crisp && clean hops malt and bread dough. A decent one that I would consider buying again.
