Hazy white straw color with a tall bright white head. Dry aromas, with chalk, attic dust, cobwebs, and hints of pale malt lemon zest and peach pits. Sweet wheat and tartness greet the palate. This is a solid berliner weisse. There is a lightly sour peach part that contributes, rather than flavors or sweetens. This actually seems to gets sweeter as it warms, but that does not dampen the flavors. Some light floral and sweet herbs come in. Respectable brew.

Appearance: Gold with a large white head. Aroma: wheat with a hint of fruit. Flavor: sweet wheat... slightly fruity. Not what I was expecting at all. =(

I hate giving DFH low ratings, I respect the brewery, and beers like this I want them to keep coming, but, this beer is ok, not as good or out there like their other experiments, rather more plain in taste than I thought. dissapointed. anyway, poured into a tulip. pours a cloudy pale yellow with a white fizzy head, citrus aroma, and soft drink fizziness on head, light, almost non present taste, sticky, and sour/tart aftertaste... carbonated sting at front with light peach accents, not as strong as you may think with the peach, it is a light refrshing summer drink..

Bottle. Cloudy straw color. Aroma is un-funky sour with wheat, light malt and peaches. Doesnít taste unlike the berliner weisses that Iíve tried thus far. But it definitely walks the border in being called a fruit beer. Peach really picks up in the taste. The ultimate Summer cooler.

UPDATED: MAR 15, 2008 Bottle: The aroma is grassy with some light musty lemony sourness and very faint peach. It pours a hazy/cloudy dull yellow with virtually no head. Some fizzy bubbles form during the pour, but they form a small head that lasts maybe 10 seconds. The flavor starts rather light with just a hint of sweetness. Itís followed by a nice lemon and faint peach tartness with faint grassy bitterness and spice in the finish. The peach is there, but itís very faint or maybe just covered up by the lemony tartness. Iím not a peach fan, so I kind of expected to be turned off by this, but itís rather tasty and refreshing. I really wish there was more of this style to sample. While not as good as the 1809, I see myself drinking this more often due to itís price. This could be a regular beer of mine this summer.

12oz bottle from Florianís. Light yellow body, a tad hazy due to the little bit of yeast I accidentally got in it, and a half inch of off-white head. Smells like peach juice and very little else. It smells good, but rather one-dimensional. Tastes like peach initially, with kind of a sourness toward the finish that is reminiscent of apple or lemon. Light in body, and extremely drinkable. Wow, this is a good beer.

Poured a cloudy golden color, with a thin white head. Had a tart taste of peaches, lemon, and other citrus fruit, spices, and finished like a hefeweizen, sweet and bland. Had a weird feeling in the mouth of how the carbonation and sourness reacted. Thanks for sharing Dragonstout.

UPDATED: JUL 6, 2008 Update, draft, Spring/Summer 2008 version. This year’s batch of Festina Peche seems to be much more tart than the 2007 version, which is a welcomed trend in my book. The palate also seems lighter, drier, and more refreshing. I love this beer, and will look forward to it every year.

Original rating, July 2007. Pour is a cloudy pale yellow with a small white head that recedes to a thin film. Virtually no lacing noted. Aroma shows acidic lemon, grapefruit, and peach notes atop a lightly sweet, wheat malt base. Flavors are ascorbic, borderline sour, up front, with that sweet wheat coming through to balance out the pH. Light and refreshing, but getting just a touch syrupy on the finish, but still very drinkable. Very good.
