Another fun unique beer from these guys. Had on tap a couple of weeks ago at Capital Ale House Midlothian and I believe it is still available. Just a ton of raspberries on the nose and really not much else other then traces of alcohol. No head to speak of really. It is very strong. Full bodied beer. I taste hops a bit with a lot of sweet malts but then my mouth is just overwhelmed with raspberries, raspberries and more raspberries. Nice beer but very different.

Bottle. Pink golden clear pour with a rose hued white head. Aroma is raspeberry, sweet, paper, fuesel alcohol. Flavor is grain, raspeberry, booze, corn. Syrupy palate.

26th September 2008. A bottle born on my birthday (7th Sept). Intense malty ale with a blizzard of raspberry brandy flavours. Finishes warming and spirity. The raspberries are nicely judged. Unique tasty beer which I indulgently finished by myself and which provided the foundation of a messy boxing day!

(Draught at Flying Saucer Addison) This beer is absolutely beautiful. A reddish-orange color that almost appears to be on fire as it catches light around it. Smells extremely alcoholic indicative of its 18% alcohol content. It is not hidden whatsoever. What it does have in burn though it makes up for in beautiful raspberry aromas. Taste is enjoyable, raspberries and warm alcohol and burns less as it warms up. Palette is very nicely carbonated for this type of beer. High carbonation was needed, and it was present. This is a sipper in the purest sense of the word. I bet it took me 1.5 hours to finish 8 oz. of this. I don’t drink liquor straight, but at times I certainly felt like that’s what this was offering. Overall I’m glad I got to have this, but I would not get it again.

This beer has a very strong taste of raspberries. Pour is a rather dark red, with almost no carbonation. Though this beer is sweet it doesn’t quite feel overbearing, though in all honesty there isn’t that much complexity either. Alcohol is hidden quite well. Only real drawback to this is the harsh carbonation which makes it somewhat unpleasant on the palate.

Pinkish orange pour not much head very inviting aroma of fresh raspberries ..... taste of raspberries than smacks you of champagne .... very lively .... definitely a sipper and one to take your time and enjoy ...... like a very very strong raspberry champagne

Quite possibly one of the most disappointing beers I have had in a while, since I usually love everything I have from Dogfish Head. Red-tinged copper color in the glass. Strange, sort of sweet aroma that reminded everyone in the room of Robitussin cough syrup. An almost cloying sweetness on the palate that was way out of balance with everything else. The cough syrup smell turned into a cough syrup taste on the palate. I am a fan of fruit beers, but not this one.

Draft at the brewpub: Weak vinegary alcohol nose. Clear red, headless. Alcohol evident, raspberries underneath but palatable. Buttery finish, but it works. Tastes fine, but not beery enough for my taste.
