Tap. Caramel color with nice frothy head and decent lacing. Smells like a pastry tart. Flavor follows- maybe a little raspberry jam. Light crisp sweet finish.

Holy Raspberries Batman! Pour is an unassuming amber like a DIPA or strong ale. White head that went away when I wasn't looking. Nose is raspberry, nice. Taste is a raspberry booze kung-fu fight. Booze wins, fatality! It's very nice! On draft at the Meadhall in Cambridge, MA - the bartender said last years version was more like turpentine. She and I tasted it together and she proclaimed that she could recommend this years version! I really like it!

4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
The raspberry is mixed wonderfully with this ale. The smell is heavy raspberry. Appearance is dark like an old ale. The taste screams raspberry with the nice tart added, maybe a little to sweet but meant to be sipped there by keeping the sweetness at proper proportion in the mouth. Mouth feel is thick. Overall very nice brew.

A - Pours a clear copper-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lace.
S - Aroma is a mix of strong raspberries, booze, a bit of Belgian yeast and some floral elements.
T - Starts off with some strong sweet raspberry flavor with some tartness. Through the middle, some booze comes through with some floral flavors. The finish is a mix of more sweet and lightly tart raspberries with some booze and a bit vanilla and yeast.
M - Full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a warming and sweet finish.
D - Pretty drinkable. A bit one dimensional, but the strength and complexity of the raspberry flavor is really nice.

2009 version on draft at Meking. Pours with a reddish tint and an inch of thick white foam. Big raspberry and strawberry notes on the nose. I think you could get drunk just off of the fumes. Nice muted fruit notes on the tongue. Itís hard to believe itís18% at this point. The mouthfeel is slick almost slippery. The finish is a bit harsh but by that point who cares! Itís just a flavorful and beautifully balanced beer.

The goblet came across the bar with a hazy, reddish-coppery colored brew with a thin head. Fruity ,sweet aromas. Full bodied with flavors of raspberry, and malt. I found this brew very interesting, but perhaps a little too sweet. It is very tasty, but not for mass consumption due to the alcohol ABV. It really does kick your ass.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a hazy golden amber with a small, thin head and sweet aroma of raspberries and fruits. Taste is sweet, of heavy raspberries and alcohol, that gives it a sour flavor, with a lingering alcohol finish. Strong, sweet brew from Dogfish, a sipper.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a hazy dark amber. Nose is fruity and sweet. Taste is sour and bitter, almost tannin tasting. Did not agree with my palate. Finish as well bitter, sour and long. I could live without this one. So many better fruit beers out there, despite not being my favorite style. Strongest is not always the best ! Quaff Score 4 / 10

750 ml bottle poured, gorgeous golden red color, bouquet is raspberry with hints of alcohol, flavor is sweet raspberry with alcohol burn, pallette is fresh light and fruity, obviously the raspberry is in the forefront but subtle hop hints... Delicious not an everyday beer for multiple reasons

I thought this one was sort of like a thick tart fruit juice, something different from any beer Iíve had, very warming and delicious.
