Bottle @ private beer tasting, Denver. Thanks to Adnielsen. Pours reddish golden with a white head. Aroma is very strong raspberries, sugar, oak, sweet fruit. Taste is very much like aroma, with loads of sweet raspberries, other sweet fruit, sugar, heavy alchohol. Full body, low carbonation, sweet sugary and fruity sticking finish. Very nice fruitbeer, a sipper that im sure would go well with ice or sweet fruit deserts. 090311

11/13/06. hazy rose colored body. medicinal candy lozenge nose with powdered sugar pastry notes. bright, high acid, high alcohol, but below absurd levels and tempered somewhat by the goopy, chewy body and fruit sweetness - it’s definitely cut by the sugar. sour pulp and brandy chewiness late. honestly i find it more interesting than unpleasant. it doesn’t fall off the end of the world, but i keep waiting.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 dionysus (1257) - Arizona, USA - MAR 14, 2011
Bottle pours deep red/amber with no head. Aroma shows sweet raspberries and caramel. Flavor shows the same with additional notes of oak. The raspberry seems more like syrup than fresh fruit. Overall body is full and viscous with traces of hot alcohol on the finish which almost feels like an eau de vie.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 crossovert (2547) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 14, 2011
Lost my notes for this one, but it poured a bit of an orange color with not much head. It is super alcoholic and sweet with tons and tons of caramel and a hint of raspberry liqeur.

Bottle share with a buddy. Well, the aroma of this beer is like mashed raspberries and alcohol. Nice aroma. But the taste is less appealing. Solid alcohol, not unlike vodka, that hides some raspberries in there. It’s ok but not much more to be said. I wish them made a smaller bottle and/or a version with less alcohol content.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 adnielsen (3112) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 11, 2011
Bottle @ home. Red orange appearance with a light orange and fairly small head. Quite pungent upon opening the bottle. Strong alcoholic nose made of mostly just slightly sour cherries. Quite strong raspberry flavor that’s slightly sour and strong alcoholic. I think this would an excellent beer with chocolate cake. A sipper but the nice thing is that the sweetness does balance the alcohol.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 Cybercat (1736) - Georgia, USA - MAR 6, 2011
Comes out of the bottle a hazy honey-golden - quite appealing. Fruity aroma has a bit of an alcohol nip to it. Flavor is mainly fruity - apple, banana and pear - and has a malty undertone as well as a strong, but not fierce, alcohol bite. Texture is smooth and subtly fizzy.

Whoa, this had 666 ratings when I clicked on it. Sorry to ruin that badassery, but now it’s 2/3 of the way to 1000 ratings. Anyway, I brought a 750 ml bottle from Binny’s-South Loop to a tasting. 2008 vintage. Pours a hazy orange-gold color with some ruby tints, not unlike grapefruit juice. A small off-white head leaves just a little ring. Aroma of raspberries, sweet caramel malts, spices, and warming booze. Flavor of alcohol all the way through warms up the palate and overwhelms some of the raspberries; also sweet malts, spices, and syrup. Medium-full bodied, with a boozy, syrupy mouthfeel and low carbonation. Not bad, pretty sweet. I don’t know whether it’d be better to drink this fresh or older- as it stands, the 2008 just seems to have too much of a boozy character to enjoy the raspberry.
