750ml... Huge. Pours a ruby-reddish-copper with very little head. Aroma is slighly fruity but is almost washed away by the warm alcohol. The flavors start out slightly fruity, but finish with a huge malty alcohol kick. At 36 proof, this beer would be best off saved for the cooler months in my mind.

Sorry, but just too much alcohol for me. Granted, I wasn’t aware of the actual [percentage until now, but I remember wondering what the heck they were trying to do. I can see where some may think that this puppy is well made and quite complex, but the alcohol blows away the cherries. Okay on the nose, but the points are only for effort.

Tasted at 2nd annual Brass City Brew Fest. Sweet malt aroma with noticalble alcohol. Amber color with no head. Sweet start with a little rasberry flavor. Strong alcohol finish. Creamy palate.

UPDATED: SEP 6, 2007 Pours a cloudy red-brown-orange with a thin head that quckly dissapates. Aroma is funky, with hints of cheese and fruit. Flavor is fruity, but the raspberries aren’t overpowering, and I probably wouldn’t have been able to pick them out without knowing in advance. A kind of light Chimay. My mouth puckers a little with each sip. Watch out for the alcohol! It’s 18%, so it can knock you off your feet pretty fast. A pretty good beer, though not really worth the $20 I paid for it.

750ml bottle. Pours a lovely mix of caramel tan and deep ruby red. The head pours frothy and medium in size, but is very short-lived. The aroma is gorgeous: alcohol is evident, but there are wafts of malt, fruit, and a strong note of ripe raspberries. The aromas really sing together. The flavor is extremely strong with alcohol. The blend of tart fruit and hefty, sweet malts provides an amazing balance on the tongue. Fruity and sweet throughout, its flavors remind me of an ice cream sunday covered in sweet, stewed berries. Despite being strong with the flavors of raspberry, it is definitely overpowered by the fruit - it is still a beer and less fruity than many other commercial fruit beers. It also tastes less like raspberry than a framboise lambic. The finish is sweet from malts, has a hint of tart fruit, and burns with alcohol - very warming as it goes down, almost like sipping an after-dinner liquor. The mouthfeel is thick, but strongly carbonated. The alcohol also provides a cutting edge to the way it feels on the tongue. It is much thicker and less carbonated its close cousin, the sparkling wine (more alcohol, too). Overall, a masterful blend of beer and fruit - very special.

750 mL bottle. Thank you Chuck for nice gift.Pours a reddish amber. Very cloudy with a small white head. The raspberries are only in the background. The alcohol is strong and there is a little bit of medicinal burn in the finish. I would like a little more fruit or less alcohol. This might be a good one to age, but will the fruit flavor stay around after a few years? And of course I am known for saving good beers.

(From bottle @ DFH event in Boothbay, ME 8/23/07) Whooo this is sweet (and hot)!...Darkish amber with a bit of a pink tint. Aroma quite sweet - berries, apricots? Smells alot like blueberry (or maybe raspberry) syrup. Also smells a little hot! Nice rings of lacing. Tastes sweet and hot, there’s no disguising the ABV in this one. Sugary, sticky. Nice in a small dose but would find it hard to drink too much of this
