I tried one fresh, I guess maybe aging would help? Tastes like raspberries mixed with vodka....I love raspberries, but I dont really like vodka, and I can’t really drink vodka like beer, I have to sip it. I only like to sip scotch.

Murky brownred with a ring of white foam. Wild raspberry aroma. Raspberry, caramel, raspberry-licorice-fudge and booze in the taste. Would be truly great if it wasn’t for the booziness.

Bottle Share. Thick and rich Raspberry aroma litteraly a ton of it in the nose. Pours an amder tinged golden with a slight amount of red. Minimal head with mild carbonation. On first sip its very sweet and punchs you in the face with Raspberry and Alcohol, very strong on both. Further along they mellow out and open to deep slightly tart yet sweet rich flavors. Great brew.

The only keg we got in the DFW on tap at my favorite local pub-poured into a chimay goblet.
Pours ruby red with a nice reddish head. Smells very sweet-raspberry aroma really comes through. Tastes as sweet-I’ve had this in a bottle as well and the alcohol and overall sweetness is subdued on tap. The owner appearently cellared the keg for a few months which I’m sure has something to do with it. Nice malty backbone which helps to mellow the sweetness as well. Smooth and flavorful-I’ve never tasted anything quite like this. 18% abv was there but not as in your face as you’d think. Not one you could down all night-one was just enough for me.
Very happy I got the oppurtunity to try this on tap. Definately not to be missed if you get the chance.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 DavoleBomb (965) - Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 13, 2011
Had this on-tap at Max’s in Baltimore.
Didn’t look particularly appealing, but with 18% ABV, what could I expect. Either way, this smelled amazing. The raspberries were all up in mah greel, which I though was excellent. The taste was just as full of raspberries. Twas a raspberry bomb, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The alcohol was hidden alright, but I don’t see why this couldn’t be a 10% beer. The excess alcohol is simply pointless. Either way, this is a good brew.

Cloudy/soupy red with a light white head that dissipates quickly. Nice floral and rasberry in the nose but it is overpowered by the alcohol. Flavor is the same nice fermented rasberry flavor but its way overpowered by the alcohol.

On tap at the dogfish head new years eve event served in a snifter pour was a dark copper amber with one inches of off white head. Nose was a explosion of dark fruits, brandy, raspberries. Taste was very close to the nose. This was.vary good brew considering the abv

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2011 8oz pour served in a snifter at Dogfish Head. Pour is shimmering amber with little head and no lacing. Nose is strong raspberries, apples, and brandy. Taste is right on key, but this brew serves itself as a brandy more than a fruit beer. This is by far my favorite fruit beer I’ve come across, but my scope on this style is limited.
