Bottle, Im not sure we need this much alcohol. fiver29 said it right, this is a fun one to try, super hazy, high high alc taste/aroma, medium to heavy body, swells the back tongue, small head, nice razzy taste, after you drink this beer, close your mouth and exhale out your nose, its great!

Deep red-orange clear beer with a small head. Sweet creamy smell of berries and prunes. Very strong alcohol taste and feel. Sweet flavour of berries and spices. Alcohol too dominating in the end.

Smells of raspberries and yeast. Pours golden with a thin head. Tastes of raspberries and grapes, maybe a hint of oak. Very refreshing and easy to drink, a bit sweet though.

Whoa...talk about a bad smell. I smelled nothing sweet or fruity. Good pour with little head. Ok taste, plenty of kick.

From a 750 bottle on 3/11/06. This pours a nice reddish/amber with a HUGE head that took some time to dissipate, leaving a lacy foam covering all the way down the side of the glass and not much else once it finally dissapated comepletely . Nice raspberry aroma with a hint of hops in the background. Overall a very subtle aroma. I thought this looked better than it tasted at first blush but it grew on me considerably over time. The hops were more prevalent in the flavor than they were in the smell but the alcohol came through more than anything else. Mouthfeel was not as heavy as you might expect out of an 18% ABV beer and it was also suprisingly drinkable considering the punch. I wish this had come bottled with a cork because I’d like to put about half of it back in the fridge for another session. Too bad for me.

Tastes like a champagne mixed drink or a sparkling wine, with distinct raspberry flavor and bubbles more resembling champagne than beer. However, unlike most in these categories, this remains reasonably dry with some hops and a notable alcohol finish. Despite the finish, it’s difficult to believe while drinking it that it could be 18%. It isn’t my favorite style (not that there are too many of this style on the market), but it is another good, interesting beer from DFH.

the best beer to give to your date. huge alcohol presence...lots of berry action...once again not in to the fruit thing but give this a try for a hugh buzz. rent the notebook and buy this brew for a lock.

Tasting Date: 9/24/2007 2005 Bottle This was nice. Red/Orange Cooper look. Thin foam ring and just enough bubbles. Rather attractive in a flute. The smell of raspberries was not as over powering as I expected. Wickedly warming. Slight candy taste on the back of the tongue. Second flute was enjoyed with a selection of dark chocolates. Resealed bottle was great the next night.

Very strong raspberry aroma, with a hint of honey/vanilla, light golden cloudy, with a touch of pink, Sweet, but not as sweet as a framboise lambic, but still with strong raspberry flavors, surprisingly smooth for it’s alcohol content, but be careful, I’m a big guy and a half bottle knocked me on my ass.

At first sight a beautiful red raspberry color fills the glass almost rose wine like. A nice fluffy head tops the goblet. The smell is very pleasant with sweet fruit and a tart fresh raspberry aroma. The taste was not as appealing as the aroma. The raspberry was nice not perfume like as raspberries often come across. After the raspberry fads there is not much to this beer that really finish the beer out for me. First impressions were very high until tasted and then it was a long run to the end of the goblet and warming this beer did not seem to help it for me.
