So yummy. Reminds me of Loves Baby Soft perfume and Forenza sweaters. Like being smart enough in Jr. High and smart enough to appreciate it without being stuck up. Also, it tastes like the smell of your corsage when attending your first prom. Yummy!

Drank a nearly three year old bottle on near years eve 2009. One more month would’ve been a full three years. I drank another bottle when I purchased the one I’m reviewing now, and there were distinct differences.
The ’young’ Fort was hazy, as everyone reports, and the alcohol was very apparent. Almost a bit much depending on who you’re talking to. The aged Fort was head and shoulders above what I remember of the other. It had clarified considerably, and poured an amazing, clear, deep, rich, vibrant, nearly glowing ruby-copper. Not a lot of head, but nice lacing that stayed around forever. The smell was intoxicating. Full-bodied, highly developed, complex raspberry that you could smell a mile away. Not too sweet, though. It also reminded me of very dark chocolate. The alcohol wasn’t nearly as bold, but you could still tell right away that this was a raspberry beer for men if there ever was one. It tasted like it was about 12-14% alcohol. The mouthfeel was substantial and wonderful. Not too thick or syrupy, though.
Once about three quarters of the beer was almost gone, I swirled the bottle to agitate the sediment and poured that into what was left. I will just say that I preferred the taste without the sediment. I figured I would, and it was still great, but the amazing clarity is half the point of aging it. Anyway, this was a truly unique and remarkable beer experience, and the perfect way to kick off the new year.

UPDATED: MAY 14, 2007 Pours a rosey, amber honey color w/ a full, semi creamy froth. Aroma of malted raspberries. Medium to full nectar w/ ample residual effers. Posseses a definable raspberry essence, w/ a mild hop component. Very complex. I taste strawberry, cherry, and some citrus fruit. Not too sweet as I did imagine being it was loaded with a 2K lbs. of raspberries per batch. It finishes long and fruity with a cigar smoked feeling. Alcohol is well hidden. Overall it’s a well ballanced brew. I was impressed and will recommend. A nice replacement for a bottle of fruity/sweet wine.

Great for what it is, a fruit beer. If your looking for a beer with fruit, go elswhere, but for a dessert beer, this is pretty good. Actually gonna try mixing it with Dogfish’s Indian Brown for a rasberry brown ale.

The best fruit beer I’ve had. The aroma is more wine than beer. Nice cloudy amber color. Taste is sweet and fruity with an alcohol bite to warm you up. Dogfish Head has done it again.

I bought this in the bottle at Trenton Road Takeout in Fairless Hills PA. The aroma is fruity, but the alcohol is very, very aparant. It’s almost like drinking a wine, the taste is fruity, and the alcohol is overwhelming, good beer, not for a beginer, if you like wine, try it.
