shared 750ml 2008 bottle... definitely share this among friends / family... otherwise it will bite you in the ass. Fort pours a bright ruby / deep orange with a very thin white head - ultimately settling to a thin lacing. Big alcohol nose with thin layers of raspberry, spice and lots of sugar. Big syrupy body that is very smooth throughout the mouth... a bit of the sweetness really takes over the front of the tongue with the raspberry settling towards the back. Intense sweet raspberry notes coat the finish - but in a very after dinner drink manner - the alcohol brings this fruit beer to a new level - and levels the beer into an experience that requires sipping and conversation.

Joey left this at my house. Thanks man! Roughly 4 years old or so. Pours a rich amber with red tints. Aroma is massive raspberry with some syrupy caramel. Flavor was up front raspberry and blackberries, caramel, toffee, a hint of sherry. Finishes strong but nowhere near 18%. This was very nice!

I’ve had two since Christmas ’07 and can definitely say they improve with age. Yeah, it’s a fruit assault, but what an assault. Very little head, raspberry flavor in abundance (duh) and a fantastic sweet finish. I’m aging two for Christmas ’08.

Bottle. 25.4 oz. My 200th brew! Split with James and Sean. Pours orange/amber with a full, white head. Aroma of raspberries, hops, wheat, barley, and slight traces of alcohol. Warm, smooth mouthfeel. Full body with a crisp, clean finish. This is the best fruit beer I have ever tasted. Hides the alcohol extremely well, and is not too sweet. Excellent.

2009 version on draft at Meking. Pours with a reddish tint and an inch of thick white foam. Big raspberry and strawberry notes on the nose. I think you could get drunk just off of the fumes. Nice muted fruit notes on the tongue. It’s hard to believe it’s18% at this point. The mouthfeel is slick almost slippery. The finish is a bit harsh but by that point who cares! It’s just a flavorful and beautifully balanced beer.

On tap at the dogfish head new years eve event served in a snifter pour was a dark copper amber with one inches of off white head. Nose was a explosion of dark fruits, brandy, raspberries. Taste was very close to the nose. This was.vary good brew considering the abv

Little to no head. Clear and brown in color. Is slightly sweet with a strong sour bitter finnish. I could only drink one glass at a time but I think this is a great beer, not too sweet, sort of thick feel. I would have this again.

I’m not a big fruit-beer drinker, but this one was really good. Incredibly strong, (This is a MAN’S chick beer!!!) but no overbearing alcohol taste, just a nice full bodied ale with raspberry sweetness on top.

Incredible fruit beer. Taste is overpowering with raspberries and alcohol. After all it is 18%. Good end of the night dessert beer. But not too sweet. Definitely a favorite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

At first glance the beer has hints of a redish color with a dark orange ring on the outside. The first scent that comes from the bottle is of ripe raspberries with tart finish. The flavors are that of an intense berries and a sweet after finish! One of Dogfish Head’s most flavorfull beers!
