UPDATED: SEP 17, 2006 Bottle, from julio’s. Bought when it came out, finally getting around to having it. Ok nose, sweet. Fruity raspberry, cherry, little cardboardy, little of a rotten fruit, maybe some honey if I think about it. Chambordish might be the way to go. Hazed brownish orange color, Small head lively bubbles, no lace. Bitter flavor, Alcohol with a biting seedy taste, Light body, smooth creamy mouthfeel, bitter harsh. Just awful, I couldn’t enjoy this one, drain pour.

Holy crap was this awful. Aroma of sour raspberries and the smell of marker. Pour was a nice dark gold with a one finger off white head. Taste was acidic raspberry with the aroma of markers (I mean the writing utensil) acting the way Vicks Cough Drops do (vapor action coming up from the throat through the sinuses). Very wierd experience and truly bad.

Pours amber into the glass with a slight purple/pink tint. Aroma is like that of nail polish remover. I don’t mean this to be an insult but there is an unmistakeable solvent quality about the aroma. Flavor is much the same of a raspberry flavored liquor. Strong ethyl alcohol and fruity flavors.

Very unimpressed. I was looking forward to this one for a long long long time because DFH’s super gravity beers have been absolutely phenomenal up until now. I’ve had De Extra, 120, WWS, and Olde school at 15% and was blown away. But this one was rank. Just pure alcohol. No malts, no real sweetness--it tasted like grain alcohol flavored Hi-C. The Raspberries need to be thicker, the body needs to be thicker, the malts need to be more. This just tastes like thin liquor you’d buy on the cheap to get hammered at a party... Sorry DFH, I am your biggest fan of these super beers, make many more of them!, but I could not stomach this. Had to toss a $17 bottle...

Pours a dark amber with a dimminnishing head. Very dry with strong bubblegum aromas of fruits. Very floral. Also hints of peaches. Hides alcohol well. Dry finish.

Amber with nebulous swirls in the body. More head than what I was expecting (but I wasn’t expecting any). Raspberry-esque aroma. Very medicinal tasting and bitter (but not in a good way). Dry finish. Must say, I was completely underwhelmed and disappointed. A noble experiment perhaps, but maybe raspberries should stay in a framboise.

750ml bottle. Aroma is incredibly sweet and syrupy like a liqueur. Pours a hazy copper with no real head. Flavor is very alcoholic and sweet. Almost like a fruit infused malt liquor. Way off balance and completely lacking subtlety. One of the worst dogfish i ever tried.

Tap @ Rehoboth.Clear golden w a crimson tint, small white head that completely disappeared in 60 seconds. No lace. Aroma is Belgian something w flowers, spices, honeysuckle, and applejack, w a touch of citrus & sweet red delicious apples until it warmed up then it was bananas.Flavor is sweet cough syrup for kiddies & alcohol....Tootie Fruity. I couldn’t finish it.

Soapy extract nose with some astringency. Sweet and alcoholic on the palate with an overly acetyl alcohol characteristic. Reminds me fingernail polish remover.

Sampled at the Tampa Lowry Park Zoo WaZoo Festival. Unruly sweet and overpowering raspberry flavor--almost syruppy. Not for me.
