santoslhalper (166), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA May 19, 2008 Bottle at the Pints for Pets Brewfest. Clear copper with a thin off white head. Amazing tart yet sweet raspberry aroma. Sweet and sour, yet very alcoholic, taste. Raspberry notes throughout. Calm, still mouthfeel.
Avengedpoet (21), Arizona, USA Aug 17, 2008 Pours an extremely hazy amber that reminds me of freshly squeezed apple cider. No head whatsoever. Smell is of super strong booze and rasberries (pretty much as expected). Very strong smell of fresh squeezed fruit. Taste is a beautiful meld of rasberries and malt sweetness. No hops whatsoever that are notiiceable. Definitely one to be laid down for awhile first (this one is over a year old). Very impressive for what it is. An 18% beer with fruit shouldn’t taste this good, yet it does. That is respectable. Swolf3 (16), Elkton, Maryland, USA Aug 13, 2008 Pours a rich hazy amber color. aroma and taste is raspberry along with a strong alcohol and malt flavor. stefanje (540), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Aug 10, 2008 750 ml bottle from Secret Santa (sprinkle). Pours a rich hazy amber with a small off-white head that quickly fades to nothing. The aroma is loaded with raspberries, raspberries and more raspberries. The flavor likewise has a good raspberry presence, but it also has a bit of distractingly strong hard alcohol. I had no idea that this was a 18% ABV when I opened it, this is strong stuff and its not well hidden. The mouthfeel is smooth and malty. The finish is long with lingering tart raspberries. Overall: This is a good sipping after dinner cordial, and appreciated as such. Thanks Mike. daviddm (2), USA does not count Aug 4, 2008 Deep Golden Amber in color. Sweet and tart aroma. Subtle tones of raspberries and a strong alcohol aroma. Strong raspberry flavor with nice brandy notes. Frank (1061), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 4, 2008 Hazy deep golden w/ an edge of red. Big head of tight bubbles. Nose is fruity and floral. Lightly tart w/ champagne like carbonation but a rather thick mouthfeel. Perhaps overly bitter but well rounded overall. Some alcoholic heat in the finish. Suitable for special occasions.
