Murky orange, almost amber color with little ring of bubbles that does lace. Smell is very intense booze. [I had to let this one "breathe" for an hour+ before I could stand to smell and drink it.] Sugary sweetness and whiffs of perfumy dried fruit. Still very hot. Syrupy sugary thick maltiness reminds me of a Belgian Quad with a dose of cheap fruit wine. Overly sweet and alcoholic, very medicinal impression (cherry cough syrup). The drinkability on this one is very low. The alcohol even burns the tongue; like you’re drinking MD 20/20 from a fancy bottle. This one has got to get better with age because it is pretty much undrinkable now.

Courtesy of Tony @ OTH. Pours hazy amber. Aroma of crushed raspberries with a lot of sourness. Taste, very very boozy, loaded with nice raspberries, light sour taste that tingles the back palate and cheeks. Some nice caramel malts, but overall it is loaded with alcohol and real fruit puree.

Pours a murky brown color with little head to speak of. Aroma is sour fruit, raspberries and alcohol. Flavor is nice. Very tart, but there is so much alcohol here. It’s kind of burning the back of my throat. Like a ramped up sour beer with raspberry syrup added. Pretty decent fruit beer.

Deep red amber beer with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is dominatedby raspberry and malt, with port and sherry notes from the alcohol, and a touch of...mustard. Sweet and strong flavour, dominated by rapberry and alcohol.

[bottle at EBF 2008] Refreshing, sour fruit aroma: peach and quite a bit of orange. Very slightly medicinal with any hops aroma coming as fruit. Dark red-orange with no top. Awesome fruity flavours balance this strong beer. No saltiness as in many of this style. Malt grain flavour is a bit subdued but the bitterness is very low--sweet fruit. Smooth and slightly mouth puckering from the fruit (not from vinegary acid like in lambics), clean in the end.

Bottle. High fluffy and lasting off-white head. Slightly hazy reddish body. Raspberries aroma with notes of cream and caramel. Powerful fruity creamy and malty flavor with spicy notes as well as some acidity and alcohol. Low carbonation and a long bitter sweet aftertaste.
