3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 deyholla (3528) - Waukesha, USA - MAR 19, 2011
Sampled from the tap at EBF. Poured a hazy pale yellow with a thin white head that dissipated completely. Aroma had a good amount of spice with some funk a bit of a sweet grain and hints of tropical fruit and tea. Flavor had notes of tea, earthiness, funk and some backing sweet grains as well as a bit of underlying tropical fruits/citrus. A different and complex beer.

A: The pour is a relatively clear golden color with a small white head.
S: There is a light funkiness to the nose that is accompanied by lots of lemon zest, tea, and a little bit of tartness. Lightly musty and earthy, perhaps a touch of mushrooms and dirt.
T: The flavor is sort of bland and a bit watery. Lightly sour/tart with some tea and earth flavors. There is a little bit of lemon and lemon zest. Just a hint of green apple peel to it.
M: Light bodied with medium carbonation.
O: Sort of like a watered down version of the TEA/Veritas 008 from Lost Abbey.

Growler. Poured into a tulip glass a slightly cloudy hazed light orange yellow color with a slight white head that collars around the glass. LIght lemon zest with just an ever so small amount of herbal aroma. The taste is nice and light, as is the mouthfeel. Starts with a light on the palate lemon sourness that stays around the entire time of your drink. A touch bit of blandness though. Overall, a light and refreshing beer. The tea flavor is rather lost on me though as the lemon pretty much dominates it.

Growler from a nice gent from Beer Advocate. Pours yellow with no head. Nose has a light ea quality. Taste is sweet, with a light tea like, the kombucha punch doesn’t come through as much as straight up kombucha. I like this a lot though.

Love that i’m one of the first to rate this. Had this in the brewpub this weekend. Pours a golden hazy color. Was surprisingly tart like a lemon. Drank like a sweeter wheat beer. There were some green tea notes detected. Really enjoy it, would be great on the beach.

Growler courtesy of slvrmon82. Thanks!
AROMA: Lemon, sweet, and funky
APPEARANCE: Poured into a Central Waters snifter. Aggressive pour resulted into 1/2 inch of head. Lots of lacing and foam clinging to the glass like soap. Golden color that is a bit hazy.
TASTE: Citrus, mild bitterness, slightly sour and sweet. Mild tea flavors in the background.
PALATE: Light bodied, thin texture and slightly bitter finish.
OVERALL: Wow, really lucky I got to try this. The beer is perfect for a hot summer day. A sessionable beer that is full of taste.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Elwood (1967) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - APR 8, 2011
Serving: Draft at the Rehoboth Brewpub. It pours a cloudy dark yellow color with a slight, foamy, white head. The nose has a good bit of funk with a tart lemon note. The flavor reminds me of a light gueuze/Berliner Weisse combo. A little malt with a dry, almost wheat like note. Light in body with average carbonation leading to a clean finish. It’s a very easy drinking brew with nice complexity. Good for the hot summer months.
