Pours bright golden with a mostly receding wispy off-white head. Aroma of sticky hop resins, earthy herbal hops, apricots, peaches, and dried fruits. Taste is sweet sticky malt, honey, earthy hop resins. Mouthfeel is full bodied, resinous and lightly sticky with moderate carbonation. Not a fan, too sweet.

Pours out golden orange with a thick white head. Orange hops and malt in the aroma. Thick mouthfeel, very hoppy, with hints of grapefruit and pine. Finishes with a bitter hoppiness on the back of the tongue and a little thickness from the heavy malt. While not my favorite DFH, I find it very interesting and well worth a try.

355 ml. Clear orange-gold with a small, lasting cap. Orange-honey-resin nose. Flavor is nicely balanced: earthy, honey-tasting malt against spicy orange-lemon grass, bitter herb; with some noticeable (but in a nice way) alcohol thrown in to boot. Delicately bittersweet and warming finish has some grassy-grain aftertastes, and maybe a hint of dark malt? Palate is about medium bodied and kind of frothy-sloshy. Pretty malty (which I like) and seems like a pretender vs. the real European lagers as far as meeting the style guidelines, but very tasty.

Well--I wrote a long review of this w/ a scathing critique of the "An European Strong Lager" classification in general but I lost it due to overall slowness and you will have to live w/o it. Sue me. This is a fine beer. It’s pretty much just an IPA w/ a noble hop emphasis and a really clean yeast profile as far as taste goes but definitely better than some similar brews. Anyway, it’s hoppy, it’s very drinkable, it’s big and strong so I’m not gonna complain. An fine beer for sure!

Bottle. Aroma of floral hops, some citrus, slightly sweet pilsner malt. Flavor is slightly sweet and slightly earthy czech maltiness with a little citrus mixed in. Slightly bitter and crisp finish. Alcohol is well hidden. This is a good version of the style.

Fantastic. Clear gold with a bubbly white head. The noble hops, saaz, and danky malt aromas are thick and rich with a touch of honey. A full taste of the same, but perfectly balanced with the battle between the sweet pilsner and tart hops at a stalemate. An excellent beer that destroys Sam Adams’ version.

Thanks to beachbum25 for this one, never could find it here. Poured gold with a thick head. It has a very floral citrusy aroma, with sweet honey mixed in. Taste is similar but not nearly as over powering as the smell. A good blend of hops balanced out the flavor nicely. I figured it would be too sweet by the smell. Has a nice lasting finish that was surprisingly complex. A very interesting beer.

From a 12-oz. bottle purchased at By The Bottle in Vancouver, WA--Poured a bright golden hue with a minuscule white head. Nose of sticky honey and floral hops. Piny and biting. Malty sweetness and that certain IT quality I look for in imperials. Alcohol well hidden, though as this beer warms up, the boozy esters become more prevalent. Great brew. One of a kind.
