Ungstrup (14757), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 21, 2009 Bottled. A pale golden beer with a huge light orangey head. The aroma is a bit on the light side with notes of hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, caramel, and fruit - especially oranges. The alcohol leaves a burn in the cheeks and the throat. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA May 19, 2009 Bottle thanks to AndyReynolds. An interesting beer, for a lager. Not what I expected from the taste. Fairly sweet and has some decent notes of citrus. It’s hard to think of it as a pilsner though. sigma23 (217), , Maine, USA May 14, 2009 2007 bottle. pours deep yellow with minimum white head. aroma is fruity and a little hops and slight malt. drinks smooth for the 9% but has lots of banana, sweet fruits, citrus, and a little alcohol burn on the finish. this was really tasty ditmier (1023), Boise, Idaho, USA May 8, 2009 2007 Bottle - Pours murky orange with a medium white head... aroma is musty fruit, booze, sweet and tart...flavour is malty and similarly tropical fruity, banana (not the belgian yeast banana, real banana), cream, some piney bitterness and a shit ton of booze... MiP (8793), Sønderborg, Denmark Apr 1, 2009 2006 bottle, 2-3 years old. Quite malty aroma, slightly vinous, hint of dried fruit. Cloudy orange colour. The flavour has some vanilla, dried fruit. A bit oxidized, but has the right level of it. The alcohol is there, but does not take over. Good. Adam77 (407), Eastampton, New Jersey, USA Mar 25, 2009 Poured yellow with white head. Aroma of pine. Started hoppy and finished malty. Not bad. Good balance. AndyReynolds (280), Wilder, Kentucky, USA Mar 21, 2009 12 Oz. Bottle. Pours a dark golden color with a white head. Aroma was really sweet, a smelled a bit of honey and citrus. Taste was sweet with a nice level of carbonation. Kind of let me down, I was expecting slightly more out of Dogfish Head. Miksu (2194), Jyväskylä, Finland Feb 21, 2009 12 oz bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Golden to copper color with small head. Thick sweet aroma with honey, herbal hops and apricot. Bittersweet flavor with honeyish and toffeish maltiness, strong herbal hoppiness as well as grapefruit and apricot. Tasty, but not so pilsner like.
