dkachur (2319), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Oct 6, 2007 Bottle. Fine effort. Pours straw colored with lots of head and good lacing. Aroma is hoppy, taste as well. Nice bubbly, hoppy pilsner. kkearn (995), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured translucent yellow/golden with a huge white head. Aroma of crisp, citric hops, well balanced with malt. Flavor is malty for an instant, then big, sticky hops take over. Long, hop resin finish. Over the top pils, very enjoyable. jlthiering (47), Viginia Beach, Maryland, USA Oct 6, 2007 Good tasting lager, there is a bitter quality that doesn’t quite match the rest of the flavor. Still enjoyable. 19641948 (492), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA Oct 5, 2007 "Golden Shower" originally received a 3.45 from me on 4/28/06. Ponied up quite the amount of coin for a bottle at the Brickskeller. Syrupy thick golden straw. Heavy flavor. Thick wet aromas. Alcohol was feisty. Glad I shared a 750ml bottle; no way I could finish one and properly enjoy it all. b33r (363), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Oct 2, 2007 This was an all around really strange brew. Gold color with no head or lacing. Thick, oily mouthfeel. Flavor and aroma were quite strong. Aroma was a cross between A1 sauce and spearmint. Flavor was very, very smoky and spicy with light hops. Honestly it was a little beefy, too. It tasted like meat. It wasn’t a skunked flavor at all, but I’m surprised there are no other experiences like this. Not light, not an easy drinker, not sweet, not anything anybody else has mentioned, and really not good. ThomasE (5179), Copenhagen, Denmark Oct 2, 2007 Clear fully golden colour with a white head. Hoppy, piney aroma with malty, sugary/ alcohol notes. Malty, alcohol sweet flavor with hoppy floral notes. darn1207 (529), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Oct 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear to orangey amber with large foamy beige/whitish head. Honey aroma. Full thick bodied. Seemed to get hoppier as it got warmer. Only a slight pilsner taste. I liked this one. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA Sep 30, 2007 12 oz Golden Era bottle. Pours a clear dark straw color with a thin, broken white head. Heavy sweet grainy aroma with Saaz underneath. Palate not as thick as I expected. Sweetness and alcohol come on initially and a moderate hop buzz comes out in the finish. The hoppiness and the obvious alcohol knock this one out of whack a bit.
