tiggmtl (4307), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jun 27, 2007 Golden Shower: Boiled sweets, condensed milk, orange citrus and light spice in the aroma with some notes of alcohol. Clear, deep golden coloured body topped by a partial cover of white head. Very sweet and syrupy with orange citrus and spicy hop character. Bitterness creeps in at the end and lingers but can’t take the edge off the sweetness. Alcohol is very apparent. Medium light body with moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled in Fall 2006 with beerbuzzmontreal, Cathschlag, GlouGlouBurp, MartinT, Olivier MTL, Rastacouere and Yowie. nicolascage (105), Copenhagen (Virum), Denmark Jun 20, 2007 160607 Bottle. Lot of malt sweetness, maybe a little too much. but anyway nice malty body. Lots of hops as well. character similar to an IPA kopher (295), New York, USA Jun 18, 2007 Perfectly clear orange, large yellow bubbles. Sweet maltiness can be smelled from across the room. Overly sweet taste followed by strong bitter finish. Thick and chewy, basically liquid toffee with lots of alcohol. Too heavy. Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jun 17, 2007 (Bottle 75 cl) Comes as "Dogfish Head Golden Shower". Pours a clear, deep golden with a dense, yellowish head. Sweetish, malty nose. Very full-bodied with a very solid malt base and a discreet bitterness. When it comes to Imperial Pilseners this is definitely one of the better examples. 160607 Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 17, 2007 Bottle. Small fizzy white head that mostly diminished. Fair display of lacing in glass. Clear sparkling body with a golden / yellow color. Quit malty notes in the aroma. Caramel, almost toffee like, hint of rye bread and some grainy like notes as well. Hint of floral hops combined with some bubblegum, fruit and what felt like sweet honey. Medium bodied with a soft carbonation and light sticky sweet texture. Moderated sweet malty flavor with only light bitterness, properly from the light hoppy notes. Long lasting sweet and fruity peach like finish. Very sweet European Strong. Not much Lager over this one, but still very nice experience. pantani (1894), Salinas, California, USA Jun 13, 2007 Light amber color, medium white head. Aroma is very sweet, alcohol, light caramel, honey, notice a bit of spice also. Taste is alcohol of front, grapes, light toffee, and caramel. Not bad, but too much alcohol showing. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Jun 12, 2007 Bottle; Nose of yeast, sweetness and spice, and sugar cookies; yellow orange with a medium yellow head; flavor is sweet and bitter at the same time, in a fairly thick body with a citrusy hoppy finish. kmweaver (2396), Sebastopol, California, USA Jun 12, 2007 750mL bottle, bottled 03/21/06, courtesy of artusory. Thanks, Ryan! Pours a clear, medium orange color; off-white head with great retention and lacing. Pleasant aroma (hardly the hoppy beer it was at first release), showing candy sugar and something like warm cinnamon buns; mild citrus hoppiness in there as well. Relaxed carbonation. Dense, syrupy mouthfeel: plenty of candy sugar and orange chewiness; a nice malty profile is still present, but an alcohol burn creeps through in a bad way (same as when it first came out). Tastes a bit like burning. Lengthy, dry citrus and candy sugar finish.
