I was surprised to see this bottle at Total Wine in McLean, VA! Pours a clear orange color with a lacing white head. Aroma is flilled with caramel and hops! The taste is amazing! Hops mixed with caramel sweetness. Ooooh, what a good beer. The finish is somewhat dry, making you want to drink more of it. A great beer from Dogfish yet again.

Bottle-The color was gold with a large fizzy head and mild carbonation with large bubbles. The aroma and taste was pretty well balance between the hops and malts. The taste was more sticky than creamy. Very satisfying, the alcohol wasn’t noticable. I didn’t realize the alcohol content until I had read the website.

Aroma is metallic/mineral filled with a bitter orange peel-hop twist and noticeable alcohol. Golden-yellow with a white head. Interesting flavor, pilsner with strong chewy caramel and dried fruit. like a pilsner barleywine. Touch of pine and fruit hops and again, noticeable alcohol and minerals in the finish. Medium-full body and creamy texture. Thanks to malachi for sharing.

Have to say I’m not a fan of lagers, but I didn’t mind this one too much. Tasted better at room temp than cold. Bit sweet, hops didn’t come through the way I expected as imperial to me implies our domestic varieties. Not too bad, but not my thing.

Market Square Liquors, Tallahassee, Fl. - 750 ml bottle. Medium goldne pour, firm white head, sticks around quite awhile. Aroma of spearmint and pear fruitiness - very fresh. Flavor has some minty notes, muted citrus, a back end of caramel and hints of alcohol. Very sticky mouthfeel. Warming, yet refreshing at the same time.

Bottle: Pours a golden color, nice head and lacing. Nose of bright crispy hops and clean malts. A very nice strong lager with smooth flavors, lots of maltiness and a balanced hop character. Nice hop bitterness and light alcohol. This is certainly better than the "other" imperial pilsner that is commonly available. Very nice stuff.

750 ml bottle into a lager glass. Pours a thick and dark amberish golden hue. Aroma consists of a bit of citrusy honey mixed in with wonderful smelling malt. Taste consists of a heavy malt that tends to be on the sweeter side, while bringing out tiny hints of the citrus you picked up on the aroma. The finish moves swiftly into a bitter light hop, which hangs around in your mouth for quite a bit. Definitely has that thick, heavy Dogfish style taste to it. Not my favorite from Dogfish, but definitely worth trying out at once or twice!
