750 ml bottle. Poured a clear effervescent gold with a tall fluffy white head. Sweet aroma of grapefruit, lemon candy, peppery alcohol, and orange peel. Taste is piney hops with some grapefruit citrus and quite a strong alcohol burn, with a touch of sticky sweetness. Very dry finish with some bitterness to it. Body is definitely larger than most pilsners but not quite as large as most big beers. Amazingly I taste nothing "pilsnerish" in this... no corn, no real grassy hops. It almost has a bit of a European Double IPA feel to it. Didn’t knock me down with hops like Sam Adams, but is a nice dry big beer that has an almost dry champagne-like quality to it. I’m not sure how this label made it through in the state that thought Seriously Bad Elf was "morally questionable", but I’m glad it did. A pleasant experience indeed.

Sampled at 2007 Brewnosers’ Christmas Gathering. Golden colour with an ample and lasting creamy white head. Herbal, lightly grassy, toasty, and more herbal aroma. Nice toasty malts with abundant herbal, grassy, and almost juicy hops. Full bodied yet easy drinking. Very enjoyable Imperial Pilsener, dripping with herbal hops and very drinkable.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear golden color with a medium white head that leaves decent lacing. The aroma is medium sweet malt and grassy floral hops. The flavor was the same medium sweet malt with a good balance of hops. There is also the presence of alcohol which refuses to remain hidden. Not overly bitter especially when tasted next to the Sam Adams Hallertau Imperial Pilsner. Not my style, but a pretty good example nonetheless.

Bottle on 9/12. Clear gold under a big white head and excellent lace for a beautful and inviting appearance. Honey and floral notes dominate the aroma. Medium body with a rich mouthfeel that is every so slightly resinous. The flavor is initially sweet with toffee and light caramel that is offset by a citrusy bitterness. There is also some alcohol noticeable.

Ahhh Golden Shower, I mean Era. 12oz bottle. Pours a somewhat dark yellow color, on the clear side. Thin, but fluffy white head that laces down the glass. Smells sweet and light malty. A little bit of spice to the malt as well. Tastes like a pilsner on ’roids. Pretty sweet up front with a nice grainy, malty taste to the finish. Pretty thick palate for the color, subdued carbonation. Great beer, I think after a while the sweetness might get sickening.

2007 Bottle - Pours murky orange with a medium white head... aroma is musty fruit, booze, sweet and tart...flavour is malty and similarly tropical fruity, banana (not the belgian yeast banana, real banana), cream, some piney bitterness and a shit ton of booze...

Bright golden orange in color with a small ivory head that left some lacing. Aroma includes caramel malt, citrus, and lemongrass. Flavor or orange peel, honey, and alcohol. A bit syrupy...better examples available.
