Poured a clear golden color with a moderate white head that diminishes to a ring. Nice malt aroma with some piney hops. Taste is hard for me to describe. Slight citrus taste accompanies the pilsner malt into a hoppy finish. Somewhat sticky on the palate, evident by the lacing left in the glass. I am not a big pilsner fan, but this was pretty easy to drink. Thanks Mike. bgburdman9 (823), Columbus, Ohio, USA

I felt like I could have downed the whole bottle in a half hour if I wanted too. Very malty but still had solid hop flavor that was not overpowering at all. Aroma and flavor was fruity hoppy flavor. This pilsener was very smooth. BeerVirgin72 (820), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

You did GREAT with this one...Its a winner! This beer smelled wonderful! Sweet bread with a hint of citrus, some apple and I think light grapefruit! Poured a very nice golden amber color. Beautiful white head that left gorgeous lacing. This was a perfect picture beer, actually, when its its glass. The taste was great. Sweet malts, bread, some fruit, thick carmel sweetness. Very different then any Pilsener I have had. Since I love a sweet malt, this beer was definitely a good one for me...Ended with just a slightly hoppy finish at the end. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 1, 2008 THOUGHTS: I don’t like pilseners much and the few European strong lagers I’ve tried have been OK, but this one is really nice. This will never be my favorite style, but beers like this will make me keep trying styles that I don’t normally like. Hid alcohol incredibly well.
TECHNICAL: Bottle. Poured a clear, medium to dark yellow with large carbonation bubbles and an average to large, white head that mostly diminished but left line after line of excellent lacing. The aroma was light to moderate malt and moderate perfume and pine hops with a little bit of band-aid aroma that was not very strong but was a little stronger if the beer was to cold or too warm. The initial flavor was lightly sweet, acidic and bitter, while the finish was moderately to heavily sweet and bitter with an average to long duration. The flavor had a slight bit of the rubbery band-aid taste, but not enough to destroy the nice malt and hop balance. Sweet malt then pine and perfume hops. The medium body was lightly syrupy with lightly fizzy carbonation and a metallic finish. cb (809), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 24, 2003 Pungent and inviting clean hop aroma. Crisp and slightly tangy at first, moves into a sweet melange of hop/malt dueling. Richer than your average pilsner, to be sure. An analogy -- You know that really nerdy kid in high school or college that you never expected to amount to anything that somehow stole your girl? Just when prom was around the corner? Exactly. I definitely underestimated the Px and the incredible wallop of flavor...not to mention the ABV. One of the best, if not the best, pils I've tried. Thanks to TAR and Hopsrus for hooking me up. xmarcnolanx (808), Kirkwood, Missouri, USA

The pilsner malt is noticeable, but not overwhelming (at least in nothing other than the sweetness). I would prefer a little more crispness in my pilsner, even an imperial pilsner.

Very hay like aroma. Taste is crisp malt, a decent amount of sweetness and gravity. Sweey, piney, somewhat floral spicy. This is solid.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 7, 2006 750 Ml bottle-Poured a Dark golden color w/a small off white head. Definite malty, grassy aroma. Sweet malty flavor with some hop bitterness to back it up. Has a fair amount of carbination. Long sweet, heavy, thick, chewy, finish. It’s not bad, drinkable, but I wouldn’t say it’s up to Dogfish’s normal standard. Nothing special, seems kind of overrated to me. changeup45 (807), Orlando, Florida, USA

Fruity and floral in the aroma with hops and a touch of malt. Mild malty flavor followed by a pretty big spicy, fruity, hop bite. Grapefruit and oranges are the fruits that come to mind. Somewhat tangy finish but overall the flavors balance extremely well. There’s a lot of flavor and enough complexity to this while being very refreshing to make it a good beer. Unfortunately it is expensive and only brewed every once in a while. If you see it I definitely recommend giving it a try
