| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 1, 2007 Bottle. Pours clear to orangey amber with large foamy beige/whitish head. Honey aroma. Full thick bodied. Seemed to get hoppier as it got warmer. Only a slight pilsner taste. I liked this one. boto (1352), Granby, Connecticut, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 19, 2006 750ml bottle of "Golden Shower": When I opened this one I got a good bit of a foam rush out of it. I had a preliminary taste by giving the bottle a lip lock as to not waste any of this brew. This one poured a clear, somewhat darker golden color. There was a bit of a head on it, which left some lacing. The nose is nice. Some caramel, breadiness and a bit grassy. The taste is somewhat fuller bodied. Rich, with notes of the caramel, fruits and a dry hopiness coming through. Very Nice. TAR (2097), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 24, 2003 Clear golden peach. Tiny suspended particles. Quickly diminishing dense white foam. Aroma of cane sugar, tea leaf, toasted hay, autumn leaves, iron, white pepper, apricot skin, and grass. Subtle notes of phenols, cracker, leather, and honey amid a tantalizing herbal blend. Minute funky characteristics. Soft, chewy mouthfeel. Sporadic prickly carbonation. Flavors of honey, white grape, medicine, surrounded by a lemon cake richness. Underlying notes of mint and melon. It tries to finish earthily hoppy, but the hops are quickly smothered by an immense base of bready, hay-like malts and medicinal alcohol. No doubt a very sweet example, somewhat lacking in crispness. I was hoping for more dry-hopping and hop flavor. Still a remarkably delicious and dangerous brew. Thanks so much, Hops! Norton (296), The Fan, Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 3, 2003 Updated: Aug 18, 2003Draft. Hazy golden slightly orange color. Head off-white, very yeasty. Bready, floral aroma. Drinks silkily, alcohol is definitely noticeable on the tongue. A twang of citrusy tartness. Punchy, hoppy aftertaste. So I drank three 20-oz. glasses of these, and definitely was heading for trouble. All I gotta say is if you drink multiples of this stuff, you too could be everyone's traveling comedy act for the night. I will not live down last night's Prescription Pils-fueled performance anytime soon. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 15, 2006 Clear golden body, medium foamy tan head. Strong saaz and toasted caramel aroma. Nice dry-hopped flavor - starts with mango / peach sweet fruitiness, then some toasty caramel, all wrapped up with leafy, orange peel saaz hops. Terminus (1955), Las Cruces, New Mexico, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 26, 2003 Updated: Jul 26, 2006Re-Rate 750 golden Shower. clear orange with a fine soapy white head. aroma of pale malts with a nice sweet base along with some spicy hops, but not as hoppy as i was expecting. seems more muddled than the perscription pils used to be (even from a couple day old growler). lots of spicy hops in the flavors with alot of sweet malt notes. has similarties to the rogue imp pils, but not as much hops here. palate is slick and sticky. nice spicy finish of noble german hops. I think this is a well balanced beer even though I was hoping for more hops.
RBSG-2003-from growler:
Well, this brew would have been the best pilsner i have ever had if it were a fresh sample. the aroma was huge full of earthy hops. palate was surupy, almost unheard of for a pilsner. I MUST try this brew fresh

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 24, 2007 More of an orange color than gold, but I guess "Orange Era" (or "orange shower") doesn’t have the same ring to it. Aroma is a little piney, maybe even a white wine component thrown in. Heavy, toasty and viscous. Surprisingly hoppy, bitter finish.
