The mild pale ale like aroma was hoppy. The strongly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish. It was very smooth but very vinous for a Pilsener. The yummy hoppy flavor was reminiscent of an IPA. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again. egajdzis (3645), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a slightly cloudy golden color with a large white and creamy head that left alot of lacing on the glass. It had a mega hoppy (for a pilsener), fruity, sweet (bubblegum) aroma. Had a sticky sweet hop flavor balanced by that signature malty pilsener taste with a smooth mouthfeel. Alcohol became slightly noticeable as the brew warmed up. rajendra82 (707), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 9, 2007 The body was clear and golden, and the carbonation was very active, forming a two finger head in the Pilsner glass. The true to style appearance was followed by a restrained, grassy, noble hop aroma. The taste was as bold as the smell was mild. Spicy, bitter, and sulfurous hops were front and center. The malt was creamy and soft, and just a little sour, and the tingle of carbonation across the tongue during each sip enhanced all of the flavors. The aftertaste was spicy and lingered on long after each sip. Full bodied, yet a true Pilsner in all aspects of the experience. Very well crafted beer from this amazing brewery. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 13, 2006 Never thought I would get into a golden shower, but was I wrong. 750 bottle, bottled on 3/21/05. Pours with a sizable frothy head. Golden orange to copper color. Malty, biscuit, lightly hoppy (pine) and sweet aroma. The flavor is way better than anything I would have expected. Lightly sweet, nice malts (biscuit and caramel), marshmallow hints, great citrus hop presence that, while balancing in nature, does not suppress the creamy sweetness. Creamy full body. Very good with my steak! A fine Brew that I will seek out again. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA

An attractive pour: thick yet mostly clear amber with frothy legs and a thickish film after a slow head. Regarding the aroma, my first thought was "barleywine", with some heavy, heady vinous dark fruits atop thick, alcoholic maltiness. Mouthfeel is strangely thin and sharp (with additional finish-astringence) while the flavor is thick and fruity malts... gorgeously sweet and rich, finishing with moderate bitterness.

Aroma was hops in the front followed by malts and some fruit. Flavor was good much the same very well balanced in with hops and malts, not as grassy as i expected. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 4, 2006 750. Crystal clear gold with a tinge of orange, foamy white head. Lots of carbonation. Nose is complex, fruit - pineapple, some orange citrus and a sweet light malt base, with an overriding floral theme. Flavor is as interesting as the nose - initially smacks of alcohol, then a sweet breadiness comes through, followed by some muted citrus and a touch of grassiness. Really well balanced. Finish is more sweet than bitter, a bit of yeastiness lingers. Really a good offering from DFH!
