stefanje (540), (Santee) San Diego, California, USA Aug 15, 2008 12 oz bottle from Secret Santa (sprinkle). Pours a 18k gold color with a big white head that has good retention. The aroma is moderate in strength with dry biscuit, corn and hops. The flavor was complex with malts, musty fruit, spices and hops. The mouthfeel is full and smooth with lively carbonation. The finish is long with lingering sweet corn. Overall: A very fine beer, but the alcohol makes itself known, this is too strong for me to drink every day. Avengedpoet (21), Arizona, USA Aug 13, 2008 Pours a beautiful clear yellow. Darker than your average Pilsener and with next to no head. Aroma is super-pungent Noble hops; a very beautiful thing. Very clean tasting. Pretty much exactly what you would expect an imperial pilsener to taste like. There was no surprise on this one, unlike most Dogfish Heads for me the first time. Was somewhat disappointed. On the plus side, great aroma and balance. Just not exciting to me. msante79 (220), Illinois, USA Aug 9, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours clear yellow gold with fluffy white head. Aroma is hops and citrus and some light fruits. Flavor is hoppy with light malts and some lemon. Alcohol comes thriygh a little at end. Drinkablility is limited by alcohol but would like all of my pilsners to be imperialized for now on. mhelgason (421), Charlotte, North Carolina, USA Jul 25, 2008 bottle. creamy off-white (mostly dissapating) head into clear golden body with decent lacing present. aromas of strong hops (perfumey and citrus) and moderate malts (caramel). flavor is initially light bittersweet and finishes a strong bitter. slight alcohol warming (but hidden well). sticky dry mouthfeel. long long long lasting finish duration. lively carbonation. very powerful but good european strong. zappafan99 (283), Rock Hill, South Carolina, USA Jul 19, 2008 Taste 7/8 Bottle 2007.
