COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hot Thoup! is a brew inspired by Sam’s nephew, who, when tasked with trying to help name the family dog, was emphatic about the name “Hot Thoup!”  We set out to create a strongly culinary influenced ale, and took a whopping load of carrot juice and generous amount of pureed ginger root and added those to an imperial pale ale base recipe, which included Pale, Maris Otter, and Crystal malts with raw sugar and lactose.  Saaz and Willamette hops add subtle herbal notes.  The earthy graininess of the malt and sweetness of the carrot juice along with the spice from the ginger come together to create one healthy tasting brew.  In true soupy fashion, we decided to take the first portion of Hot Thoup! and serve it both warm and still (uncarbonated), much like a mulled wine.  Each glass will be garnished with a carrot stick. When enjoyed warm, the sweetness of the carrot juice comes through along with spicy ginger and a warming toddy-like alcohol burn.  This one would be a great pairing with the hummus plate and lighter dishes, but might be best enjoyed as a starter to your meal!

Had this at the 2012 Great American Beer Fest in Denver, Colorado. Very interesting brew, had some very nice spice and a creamy carrot/pumpkin flavor.

Craziest beer I have ever tried in my life. Looks like a glass of golden carrot juice. Smells like carrot juice and ginger. Flavor is the damn same. Barely any beer flavor. Crazy shit!

So this is a really really interesting beer. Smells and tastes exactly like chicken noodle soup. Served warm. Gets kind of astringent though, which is the only thing that really knocks this down.

A very interesting beer that I will give them good marks for presentation, it was hazy orange with a carrot stick in it. The beer was sweet, flat and slightly warm. A very interesting beer that does not sound good but is really not as bad as you think it would be. An interesting dessert beer and definately a sipper.

From the tap poured a brown color with a carrot floating in it and a small amount of head. Sweet spicy malty flavor with a lingering finish.

Lightly hazy amber color with a small, off white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of ginger, floral hops, citrus, carrots and spice. Taste of ginger, carrots, light bitterness, and spicy alcohol in the finish. Glad this wasn’t warmed.
