Very complex mixture of flavors. Smoke, oak, pine and wine. Has a nice aroma that doesn't match the initial flavor. Then it finishes with a whole different set of tastes. Like a flavor chameleon with ADHD having an epileptic seizure on your tongue.

Dry smokey aroma with a hint of sweetness. Beautiful color...almost cranberry...and hazy. Initial taste is sweet but is quickly surpassed by wood and smoke. Strange as it seems, it's sticky, sappy...barrel aged forrest. Highly unusual. My cat is also intrigued...I cannot set it down on the table without her trying to drink it!

Great brew. Strong maple sugar aroma, coupling a maple color to the liquid itself. Taste is maple sugar as well, over a quite solid malt base. Some oak flavor too. A syrupy mouthfeel, but not in a detracting manner. This is quite superb and recommended!! A/A-.

Orange/copper pour with an off-white head. Smoke, peat, sugar, and diabetes. Strong juniper aroma, hint of maple, vanilla, lots of alcohol, and some solvent notes. The flavor is...intense. Cloying sweetness, juniper, alcohol, and peat. Smoke, lots of sugar, some maple, a touch of vanilla, and a harsh finish. Kind of fruity at times.

Red pour with light head floral nose. Thick taste. Boozy. Almost medicinal. Very heavy. Nice floral and spice hints. You can have one and that's it

Pours a reddish brown with about a finger of khaki colored head that dissipated quickly. There is minimal lacing. The aroma is sweet and dominated by smoke and oak scents with noticeable alcohol present. Taste follows the nose and it is not pleasant. Definitely cloying and the smoke is too strong. There are other flavors that are hard to describe. I think some maple and vanilla notes but nothing enjoyable. The flavors don’t seem to complement each other. Medium to full bodied. Dogfish puts out some great beers but this isn’t one of them. Ironically I have had this several times before and recall enjoying it a lot more. Maybe the recipe has changed? I don’t know but in this current form I am not a fan.

Smokey, sweet, and boozy aroma. Earthy, smokey taste, sweet, with a slight alcohol taste at the finish. Wonderfully unique. Smoke comes across in a very different way than other smoked beers. Overall great.
