12 oz bottle. Pours amber with no head. Smoked aroma, slight malty and rubber. Thick mouthfeel. Clearly fullbodied. Sweet raisin malty, syrup and oak hints. I don’t sense the vanilla, but the beer has a certain flavour smoothness. Good bitterness in the finish.

A red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of malt, alcohol, caramel, and hints of hops. The flavor is very sweet with notes of caramel and the alcohol biting the tongue. A quite nice beer.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Degarth. Pours a cloudy, warm, amber golden with a yellowish head. Sweetish aroma of caramel and fruit. Soft mouthfeel, full-bodied with sweetish caramel and then some odd but fairly distinct smoked notes - as in a Scotch whisky. A bit flat and sticky perhaps. Ends with basically no bitterness. Definitely a different Barley Wine. 090407

Bottled. Dark amber colour, not much head. Aroma is leather, malts, hops and syrup. Flavour is leather, malts, a bit caramel. Also strong roasted and smoked notes. Hides it’s alcohol quite well.

24th October 2008. Hazy brown beer. Full on flavour! Slightly smoky beer with a sweetish mid and a little vanilla. The finish is a complex of sweet spirit and porty tones. Interesting - not had anything like this before.

Bottle at home .. red brown ... thin tan lacing ... sweet fruits ... little smokey malts ... little maple nose ... over fizzy ... juicy toffee malts ... msaple ... light toffee vanilla ... little malt im not fond of ... but this is light and works ok with the juicy fruit sweet flavours ... little oak in linger... the malt character builds and isnt quite my thing...though im still enjoying it... im really thinking the US needs to branch out more malt wise.
