Clear golden amber with no head. The aroma is fairly sweet and has a good amount of grains, with light vanilla and alcohol. Flavor is smooth and mellow, similar to the aroma, with nice warming. Pretty tasty.

Bottle, aged nearly 2 years. Pours a robust reddish amber color with a healthy beige head. Smells great, sweet caramel and oak. Lots of sweet caramel in the taste with vanilla, dark fruit and oak. Super smooth.

Amber color pour from 12oz bottle at home, bottle share with Paws. White head. Complex beer. Grapes, cherry, mint, syurp, and earthy. Well balanced. Really good, didn’t think I liked barleywines, but the past few i’ve had have changeed my mind.

Bottle to glass. Pours a slightly chunky copper light brown color with a light tan head. Aroma is heavy malts, oak, molasses. Flavor is somewhat sweet, molasses, touch of peat, alcohol. Medium body, creamy, mild alcohol burn, but overall well hidden. Tasty.

Pours a lovely reddish-brown, with a foamy white head that stays. Copious lacing. Nose is caramel and malt with a hint of spice and yeast. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body, moderate carbonation. Long boozy finish. Very nice. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2011 vintage. Pours a brown like cider color. Below average 1 finger head. Dozens of slow moving bubbles. Tons of oak on the nose. Maple is also present. Very smooth mouthfeel. Lots of flavors going on- oak for sure- also pick up smokiness, sweetness, and the vanilla. This is quite enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Maple and oak really come through. Strongly flavored like many of dog fish heads other brews but not unpleasant. Bronze colored. No head.

Caramel malt aroma, sweet. Sweet caramel and malt up front. Some orange peel. Bitter finish is a surprise. Good but not my favorite DFH offering.
